Like so many others, we had heard rave reviews about this restaurant. We went there with our daughter, as it's her favorite restaurant in Carmel. I agree with the reviewers who have said they're just a little bit TOO friendly. Our waiter was very "touchy/feely" and this just isn't comfortable for me or my husband. I ordered the lasagna, and it... More

Delicious food and they even sing while you eat. This place is a gem and well worth the wait (very small dining area).

More of a comment than a review - would like to have eaten here but, we did not make a reservation. The owner was very gracious to his other patrons (obviously locals) But, told us we could be put on a "Stand By" list?!?! WTH? Stand By? Hoping, maybe I can eat dinner at some point? Whatever, we went somewhere... More

Highly recommended. First of all, the service is very good. Even though it was my first time, I was treated as if I was a regular. The food is very good as well: I would stick to the Middle Eastern / Greek food. The humus and the gyros plate were delicious. And not expensive at all. It's a very popular... More

There are plenty of seafood and continental-styled restaurants in Carmel. Not many Middle Eastern. So if you are in the mood for something different, don't miss Dametra Cafe right on Ocean Ave. It's tiny and has a wide following. I enjoyed the Chicken Swarma "Sandwich" for lunch. It was something I could not possibly duplicate at home, even though I... More

Stumbled on this little gem as we were strolling through town. Owner very personable and played some guitarlike instrument. Chef sang a song.we had never these Lebanese dishes. Food very tasty. Good value.

My husband and I saw the great reviews on tripadvisor, and initially tried to make reservations. To our disappointment, the phone line was busy literally all day (everyone must have had the same idea!) so we gave up on the idea of eating here and made another reservation. We were strolling the area in the evening and just peeked in... More

The service and warmth in this restaurant is what is over the top. If you don't feel welcome here, you need to seek help. Like everywhere in Carmel that I went, this place is cramped. The food is ok but I wouldn't return for the food. I would return for the warmth and caring of Gabriel (sp?) and the rest... More
