Dametra Cafe-- is still as good as the day it opened. It is truly are Carmel Phenomena. I am a local and had not been there in a while. Had guests in town and they wanted to go somewhere, fun and lively... I figured-- hey will give it another go. The service, the food, the music and dancing in the... More

Very good food but the service and general vibe is what sets this restaurant apart. The owners are totally attentive to the needs of the patrons (we had to wait for our table for a few few minutes so they they gave us a complimentary glass of wine while we waited) and they create a festive atmosphere. A cook came... More

Service here is better than any restaurant I have ever been to in the world! Honestly 5 stars is not enough. They genuinely make you feel like you are part of the family there for a special occasion and you are the honered guest. The food was great, but honestly I eat out quite often so on food alone I... My wife and I had lunch at Dametra on a Sunday afternoon on our visit to Carmel in November. We received a warm welcome at the door and were quickly seated at the table in the back of the cafe. I ordered the crab and shrimp ravioli in light pesto crream sauce and my wife got the Greek moussaka. Both... More

While the owners really have it going on with a fabulous sense of welcoming hospitality, that's all they have going. The food was mediocre, at best, and the service was painfully slow. I remain utterly astounded by the continued high ratings of this highly disappointing establishment. We will never go back with so many other amazing choices in downtown Carmel.

we called and tried to make a reservation early afternoon for the same night, of course they were fully booked, but he suggested us to drop by and see anyway. We were super lucky, someone didn't show up and they managed to seat us. Small and crowded restaurant, and it was def. a tiny squeeze with a 2 yr old,... More

1. Friendly waitress greeting-genuine! 2. Fresh Mediterranean luncheon options( I had the grilled vegetable sandwich with some type of pesto which was scrumptious). 3. The owner learned that 2 guests were celebrating anniversary/ birthday... And broke into song on an old fashioned " lyre". The waitress tied coin scarves over the celebrating women's jeans and they shimmied, making the close... More

Had lunch here late on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and the place was jammin'. Portions are huge; they can be easily shared.
