This restaurant deserves its top rating - very diversified menu and clientele - so unlike the Carmel I remember from years back..got in without a reservation about 3pm on a beautiful Saturday - it was packed but service was nice - crab and shrimp ravioli to die for, Not a place for a romantic quiet dinner but some of the... We went to Dametra after reading several reviews on this site and others. The experience was like attending a well made movie of a novel you enjoyed. The reviews are spot on --Dametra is teriffic on all counts: food, value, experience and service. The experience is like a large celebration with your family and friends. The restuarant is very cozy... More

This past Tues. night we arrived in Carmel around 10:00 and were pleasantly surprised to find Demetra Cafe one of the only places open for a late bite to eat. We loved the Grape Leaves that were served with a really great dipping sauce and the Bakalava was delicous for dessert. We have enjoyed lunch here before and can't wait... More

We've taken guests here twice for lunch on a recommendation. There was about a 15 minute wait each time. Small, lovely dining spot. Food was excellent & mood was vibrant. Both times, musicians came out to play a couple numbers--very festive. Food was excellent--we ordered several different items. Service is very attentive. A great experience all the way around.

We stopped here for lunch based on TA reviews and were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly at the front door and our table service was top notch. The food is delicious and the musical entertainment was a nice extra. Very comfortable atmosphere.

This is the most fun meal experience in town. The staff is incredibly friendly and make you feel like family. The food was great - we loved the lamb and chicken kababs. While you are there old world songs will be sung to celebrate special occasions - very fun. Make sure to make a reservation in advance as it is... More

We read the reviews and decided that we needed to have Dametra on our list for our 2 night stay in Carmel. We called the day before hand and received 8:30 reservations for a Tuesday evening. We arrived about 15 minutes early because the rest of Carmel shuts down around 6pm and we had run out of window-shopping. The owner... More

The headline says it all. Dametra's is a small, quaint, noisy, busy, and fun place to go for a casual dinner in Carmel. Reservations are strongly suggested for this local eatery but more than worth a wait if your just dropping in. The owners and staff will have you laughing and leaving the place feeling like you have just made... More

It was a little late and we were looking for some kind of dessert, Nothing else was open, they were full in here but gave us the option to eat in their bar next door. We took this oppurtunity and received great service. The baclava and chocolate cake really hit the mark! Thanks guys for getting us in and satisfying... More
