We were on a girl's trip to Carmel and we heard the service at Dametra Cafe was fantastic and the food and wine delicious. As soon as we walked in, the owner, Faisal, greeted us and thanked us for dining with his family! He asked us about our visit and if we were celebrating anything special. Our waitress was an... More

My wife and I were visiting Carmel and had dinner at this restaurant on April 6. Can't say enough good things about the Demetra Cafe from the quality of the food to the friendly and caring staff. It is just a fun place to go and anytime in the future that we are in Carmel this will be the first... More

I enjoyed my EXPERIENCE here a lot! I am from out of the area and local friends and I went there for lunch on Thursday, shortly before noon. We got a table immediately but within a short time the small restaurant filled up and there was a line waiting for a table. The waitress (I believe owner) was very helpful... More

We have eaten here too many times to count! We are locals and as such, hate eating out at tourist trap eateries. This is by far the best restaurant in town and beyond! Great fresh meditteranian food. Outstanding service from the friendliest staff on planet earth (I'm not kidding) and the owners are kind, helpful and sincere in their wish... More

On ALL counts this is the best restaurant that I have ever eaten in. It is way over the top in all ways: The food is fresh, real and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is completely "feel good" and the welcome is so inviting and genuine. My sister and I celebrated her B'day there on 3-30-11 and she was treated with... More

In a lunch party of four everyone loved everything that was ordered. The lamb was exceptional and all dishes were well-prepared. The owner persoanlly visited each table and even performed with one of the kitchen guys playing the sitar and singing a song. It was an all around excellent dining experience!

At night as we were walking around looking for some place to eat most of the restaurants were pretty empty and this one had people waiting outside. We wondered what was so special. So the next day, for lunch, we went back. And oh what a treat. The owner was the host and what a caring gentleman he was. Always... More

We arrived here because of TA reviews and were not disappointed. We arrived and they were packed - we were told it would take an hour to get a table - we felt it would be worth the wait so we said fine. When we returned after an hour we were seated straight away. The food we ordered - 2... More

We have visited Dametra Cafe several times. We love it there. The entire menu is excellent. It offers a combination of Italian and Greek dishes. A reasonably priced simple wine list complements the great value.

What a wonderful gem in a town full of restaurant choices! Dametra is a great choice for lunch or dinner. Small and very busy but the staff is warm and welcoming and the hummus is the best! Don't resist the bread either.. Crunchy outside with tender center it is superb with EVOO and balsamic or with the hummus! Logs of... More
