We didn't look any reviews before arriving at Carmel. Looking for a restaurant to have "lunch" at 5:30pm, we noticed this restaurant was pretty busy for the hour! We went without know it was #1 here at TripAdvisor and we got lucky to be seated without a reservationg! It's not #1 for no reason! Food is great, friendly atmosphere and... More

This is one of the sought after reservations on a busy week-end. This was my second year eating here on my annual visit to Carmel. The food is good, service is great with several unusual languages spoken if necessary. You won't know who is sitting at the next table, ours was a Texas town mayor.

The food is really good, but the way the owners make you feel at home is something really amazing, too cozy and the singing and dancing was really fun, the best place on the peninsula by far

Went to Dametra Cafe because it was recommended on Yelp. The food and atmosphere was good but I have had better (and cheaper) Mediterranean food in New York. I ordered a gyro which usually comes on pita bread, however, their version used a thin, flat bread (similar to a wrap). Nice thought but the wrap fell apart. The baklava was... More

Great Food, Service and Atmosphere. Everything about this place was fab, the waiters led the entire restaurant in a communal sing song halfway through the evening. It was great fun, although extremely busy and it feels as though they have squished in just a few too many tables. It was as though we were actually dining with the people next... More

We stumbled onto Dametra Cafe after a long day traveling around the peninsula, hiking and sightseeing. We were famished, and my husband is vegetarian, almost vegan, so finding suitable restaurants can be a challenge. We had our 2 kids 9 and 11 with us. We didn't realize that it's the kind of place that you make reservations well in advance... More

The whole family loved our meals and the music was a welcome surprise. The menu is varied. Service was excellent. It is a small place, get there early or make a reservation.

We returned three years to the day since our first visit, and found the restaurant had expanded in size, but still had the same, great experience!! Great food, great service, and lots of fun!! An absolute MUST when in Carmel.
