Great food and exceptional service - A must stop in Carmel

We had eaten out their new location in Del Monte Shopping Center in Monterey on our prior trip and didn't realize it was the same owners. We have not eaten at their Carmel Café before because the dinner wait was very long. This trip we made a point to have lunch and it was well worth it. We were... read more

On a quiet weekday evening, Damatra Cafe was in a full swing, with all tables filled with diners. We had a fun evening with vibrant music and impromptu celebration/dancing. Food was good. Not pretentious but hearty.

We visited this restaurant when we were returning to San Jose after visiting 17 Mile Drive. It was already late afternoon and we were starving as we hadn't taken our lunch. My nephew suggested that we go to Dametra Cafe in Carmel By The Sea. And it certainly made sense as visit to this restaurant was a pleasurable experience. I... More

We went for lunch around 1230pm. The place was packed but they were able to seat us right away. We both ordered the Mediterranean combo plate which was amazing! We both had not one single complaint! Then when we were finishing the owner came out and asked us personally how we liked everything as he did with all the tables.... More

We discovered Dametra Café a few years ago and go there every time we are in Carmel for our Anniversary. Their food is primarily Greek and is quite good. You can't go wrong here especially if you enjoy music and lots of noise with your meal.

Wonderful food and service was excellent. In the middle of lunch an older man appeared in the middle of the restaurant and sang a cappella a Spanish song which was lovely. This place is very popular and it is sometimes difficult to snag a table. The one thing I did not like was that people kept leaving the front door... More

We had reservations for a Sunday night and we were glad we did. It was hopping and we got seated right away. We indulged in the gyros plate, drank our share of Greek wine and reminds our selves of how it reminded us of Greek Town in Chicago - a nice comparison!

One of the most popular restaurants in Carmel. We ordered pasta and fresh fish entrees and they were very good. The staff is friendly and may just burst into song while you are enjoying your meal. Great dining experience. Must try!

Small and always packed for a reason. Service is great and the food is excellent. The staff even breaks into song during the evening. Kids are welcome. A great value for the money in tony Carmel.
