Just walked in for a quick lunch. No frills place. Good hummus an taziki. Good little gyros although I didn't taste lamb. Professional quick service. Good wine list. No haute cuisine but honest food.

Good food and efficient service. Visited in July 2015 - had to wait approximately 20 minutes to get a table. OK price level.

The food was very good, wine list had much to choose from, the staff worked hard to set a fun family friendly environment. The prices are reasonable. If you want an excellent expensive 5 star experience, go somewhere else. If you want to smile, laugh, maybe dance a little while enjoying very good middle eastern food the check this place... More

This was a nice place for lunch. The food was good, nothing special though. At one point a man came out from the kitchen and sang a Spanish song, which was entertaining. We had to wait forty minutes at 2:00 in the afternoon, but they put our name in then called our phone, so it wasn't too bad.

Dametra Cafe deserves to be number 1. We have eaten in every highly rated restaurant in Carmel. All are extremely good; and Dametra Cafe is at the top of this great list. If you like Greek food and most people will like it you will be pleased with Dametra. If you are lucky you will be treated to an oud... More

We had been told that Dametra was a great little Greek place in Carmel by the hotel and a store owner at a western store . Walked by a few times and it looked packed with patrons. The 2nd day in Carmel we made it a point to go. They told us 15-20 minute wait, it was actually 35 minutes.... More

Easy to see why Dametra is so popular. It appeals to the average tourist happy with an average experience. The charm starts with the passe trompe l'oeil and pretty much ends with the welcoming, lively owner Bashar, the consummate front-of-house restaurateur who regales the hot, densely packed dining room with a periodic minstrel show on his oud. The sound is... More
