I was pleasantly surprised by this causal restaurant attached to the hotel we were staying at for a wedding. They did the simple stuff like Burgers really well, had some great small plates to share over drinks and good seafood.

Great variety of happy hour choices. You can make a meal out of several of them on their own or get a few to share. The Ahi Tuna is one of my favorites.

Wonderful specials - lots of terrific apps to try! Fresh, local ingredients - some grown by the chef. The bar area is roomy.

We were staying at West Inn & Suites and ate at Bistro West twice during our stay, once with children and once without. Both meals were wonderful, and the kids loved the colored bubble art on the wall above our table. Great ambiance and family friendly dining with an elegant touch. Broad menu and everything we ordered was terrific. Great service too. Will return in the future when are back in Carlsbad.

Everything the 5 of us ate was wonderful! The resturant is visually beautiful and it was a very pleasant evening.

Dinner Saturday night with a friend. Sea Bass (day's special) followed a spinach salad. Both outstanding! Promptly seated and outstanding service with a very knowledgeable and personable waiter (Oscar). The ambiance is wonderful. Dress is overwhelmingly upscale and definitely not "beach." Pricy; however, worth it.
