Norte is one of the oldest Mexican restaurants in Carlsbad. They have wonderful Mexican food and great drinks. Plus they have a fabulous happy hour! They have indoor seating, a great bar area +2 patios that you could sit outside and enjoy the wonderful Southern California weather! One of our favorite restaurants.

My boyfriend and I were passing through Carlsbad on our way to San Diego and decided to stop here for lunch. It turns out they have a GREAT lunch special: choose from a quesadilla, burrito, or enchilada with your choice of meat; choose either a soda, margarita, or draft beer; and it comes with rice and refried beans. All this... More

We were excited to eat Mexican in California... and this looked like a great spot. Huge patio decked out in Spanish style. But it was SUCH a disappointment. The margaritas were so acidic you couldn't have more than one. Free chips and salsa... but the chips tasted like they were months old (could be the drawer they keep them in)!!!... More

While it was Cinco I have to comment on the unpleasant experience of last night. We expected for it to be busy but the continuous and I mean continuous announcing of tables ready and numerous last call for tables was just horrible. We could not hold a conversation. Get some of those beepers or manage your patrons better and ask... More

The owners of Norte all came from Fidel's in Solana Beach and they have not quite kept the same standards. I particularly like carnitas, and theirs was not that great. I wanted to like this place better, but the overall flavor was not that great.

Fabulous menu selections and all authentic Mexican food. Dine inside or on the patio and make sure you have a Cadillac margarita.

We came here and ate on the heated patio with family and young children. Nothing was too much bother, loved the fire pits and patio heaters on the patio. We enjoyed the super quesadilla and bunuelos.
