Great Steakhouse tucked away. We prefer to sit in the Bar and eat dinner but the dining room is also nice. Great appetizers and food. My favorite is the scallops appetizer! This is a great local spot and has a great vibe. Want a good steak? This is your place.

Our service dog in training was welcomed here with us and we had the happiest of Happy Hours. We ordered the Wedge Salad with Sirloin tips and Calamari. Both form the Happy Hour menu. Excellent! The drink options were plentiful as well! Will return as soon as possible for dinner!

Considering the location just off the 5 freeway and beside a gas station and connected to a motel I was very surprised to enter an elegant yet relaxed dining room. The service was excellent without being overbearing. The menu (and prices) were fairly typical for a steakhouse with a few pleasant surprise, like the Mac and cheese and creamed corn... More

This is a classy steakhouse in a league with Morton's and Flemings. Welcoming, comfortable and a good menu and very good wine list but certainly not economical. We were eight people for dinner around 7pm and were seated at a round table, much better with so many people. All our dishes were enjoyed. Our selections included filet mignon, porterhouse and... There was three in our table. We all ordered our steaks rare .On arrival they were cold.As if they had been cooked from the fridge rather than at room temperature.Neither were they juicy or ,bloody as we in Europe might say.All the steaks were different cuts ,mine was$79 so nearly $100 with service

Expensive place to eat for our first night in Carlsbad but the presentation and all food we ordered were really good! Probably not a place for the family because of the prices, however for couples sharing special moments, this is the best place in Carlsbad

Four of us met for conversation and good food splitting the distance between our homes. This is just off the Hwy 5 in Carlsbad off the Cannon exit. Looks like an odd location next to a gas station and a hotel and a power plant, however, it is really nice with great steaks. My friend and I had the bone... More

Heard about the restaurant for a while and finally decided to give it a try. Even with Valentines crowds they really showed their stuff! From the valet, to the waitstaff, all were gracious, professional, and polite. Great steak, lobster, and swordfish! Each was prepared exactly as promised. Each was flavorful and satisfying. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.... More

I'm a wine and steak guy, and I have had my most incredible meal here, now more than once. I've fully enjoyed my dining experience at West four times in the last three months and have been able to try several different cuts of their aged and dry-aged beef, once we ordered a variety side-by-side, as well as their wagyu...all... On our latest 10 day road trip in the US, around southern california, this was the stand out meal. Of all the tour, we did not figure Carlsbad would deliver the gourmet highlight. What a surprise. The service was excellent, and the prices reasonable for the quality of food provided. Portions were good My wife and I both had crab... More
