Great Food and Beer. Friendly staff and resonably priced. Nice patio for outdoor eating. Open for B, L and Dinner. Did not try the breakfast, just dinner.

The best thing about this place is its proximity to Legoland. The food was very good and the staff was excellent in their knowledge of both the food and beer. Good for kids as well.

Located conveniently near Legoland, this is a great place to go for those staying at the Legoland Hotel who are looking for a better variety of good and some really good beer. It's within walking distance of the Legoland hotel. It seemed like a very popular spot when we were there, and I can understand why. The food was very... More

The best part was the bar and the appetizers. The after work crowd are pretty loud. The breakfast was okay, good price, but service poor. Dinner was okay, again poor service and some "ladies" in the bar area were so loud and obnoxious it ruined the dinner. The management didn't seem to mind the shreeks and guffaws at high decibels.... Karl Strauss' restaurant in Carlsbad has become a regular watering hole and eatery for us. We usually go with a largish group, 4 to 8+. We always enjoy the food and the beers. It's a great place for a relaxed meal with friends and family. We've sampled just about everything on the menu and it's all good!

See previous write-up. Brewery is highly recommended. Try their beers. Their wines are quite expensive!

Great food at good prices. Excellent choice of beers. Amazing half price apps during happy hour. Can get quite noisy and busy during happy hour, especially on Fridays. Does good breakfast buffet for $12 pp. Next door to Grand Pacific Palisades Resort. Lots of parking and nice outdoor patio.

Ask for a behind the scene tour of the brewery-very interesting-and you get 4 samples. I'm not much of a beer drinker, so the little samples were just fine.

We enjoyed Karl Strauss for lunch one day and it was delicious! The fish & chips was perfectly crunchy and so full of flavor - it wasn't greasy. The french fries were also very good, and their coleslaw was delish! It was perfectly dressed, not too light and not too heavy. We also had the mac & cheese, which was... More

Excellent choices on hand crafted beer plus a full bar. Fair prices and exceptional specials. The food is excellent if you want a full dinner or just an appetizer.
