This little place is right on the beach, and the fish we had was quite tasty, although we did wait a bit for it. We felt they did not manage the seating real well, and could tighten this up a bit. But the staff were friendly, the sun was shining, and the sea sparkling. A good experience.

Our party of 4, visited this place twice for lunch during our 3-days on the beach in Carlsbad. We enjoyed their fish & chips & both of their fish tacos. This seems to be a well-managed restaurant, love how any of the wait staff takes care of your table.

We've eaten a lot of fish and chips in our lives, but this might have been the best ever! The fish was flaky and wonderful and the breading was just right. We are not fans of fried fish that is 1/2 breading. This seemed like a beer batter that was light and crispy.

After a long day of travel, we were looking for some place to watch the sun set while enjoying some food. Very casual, and you definitely want a seat in the sun during the winter, with fabulous fish tacos. Don't expect a good beer or wine selection, but a Pacifico beer with their Carlsbad fish taco is mighty satisfying! Our... More

The Harbor Fish Cafe sits right above the beach and right across the street from our motel. We walked by earlier in the day and were checking the menu when a customer who was leaving stopped and raved about the fish and chips. I really like fish and chips so we came back later for dinner. I can't rave about... More

Great vibe. In the winter try and get a table where the sun can catch you. Yes the fish tacos are very good. We all had the tacos so I can not comment on other dishes.

We are picky about "Fish and Chips " as I grew up in coastal England. But this was very good and the pieces of fish were a good size. The fries were just your standard fries, the coleslaw was a little bland. The disappointment was on the drinks no free refills and at $2.50 a cup its a bit much... More

This past Saturday, while shopping in Carlsbad, lunch time came around. After trying to find somewhere to eat and run, the thought of the Harbor Fish Café, right on the beach, came to mind. We had eaten there before and enjoyed it, so why not try again? Perfect fit. After the Friday storm in San Diego area, There was not... More

I love my Fish and Chips. I try them everywhere we go. This ranks up with the best I have had in Scotland, Australia and Prince Edward Island. The Fish was lightly battered and not overly spice and cooked in fresh fat. The fries were hot and tasty Not from the freezer. Complimented by a cold bottle of beer bottled... More
