Expensive and Loud

Vigilucci's Seafood and Steakhouse was very busy for a midweek dinner. In fact it was so loud that you could not carry on a conversation at your table, even shouting didn't help. The tables are very close together. I'm assuming that they want to get in as many people as possible. As for the... read more

If you've only tried the steak and seafood, try something new and order the Cappellacci Di Zucca. It's homemade pasta filled with butternut squash, walnuts, ricotta and parmigiano. Finished with brown butter, sage and a touch of marinara. It's rich and delicious. Be sure to ask for a little extra marinara sauce...it's that good! We dine here frequently and this... More

Wonderful dinner, lobster and filet cooked to perfection. Even the vegetables were great. We were there before sunset, so had a great view of the ocean across the street. You definitely need reservations, plenty of diners waiting to be seated. Nice amibiance. Will definetly go back next time we are in Carlsbad.

We enjoyed a great meal here in january this year.lovely ambience with attentive and quality service.try the veal chop ,it is amazing and very big! Pity about the odd baseball cap! Good wine list too.much better than other sea facing restaurants further down the coast. Ok we had two bottles of wine( Vermentino-very tasty) and the bill was over $... More

Maybe it was the setting sun and the blue ocean but both of those, coupled with a table on the terrace, made for a beautiful late afternoon lunch. My husband and I had driven along the coast in both directions, soaking in the Pacific's charm, when we decided to park the car and ask for an outside table. The cool... More

The view is great, but it is free across the street at the beach. One pound of king crab was $70-with shells that is two legs and a claw. Ossobuco was market priced at $5. I've heard of not having the veal, but never heard of it being market priced--live and learn. The food was very well prepared. The hazelnut... More

Second time we ate there. Food was average - not bad, not special. Very crowded Friday evening but seated quickly with reservations. Good service with waiter stopping by to check on any needs. We were there with local family who chose the restaurant. Since we were there for a 7:30PM seating, we could not enjoy any ocean view, so consider... More

The service was excellent, the food was mediocre. My lobster was overcooked. For the price of the meal, I expected more. But the ambiance was amazing and the location was breathtaking!

My husband asked me to dinner and suggested Vigilucci's Steak and Seafood. We have eaten at this restaurant before and it was great and we've eaten at their other restaurants with favorable results. Well...not to be this evening! We waited a long time for our appetizer and it was luke warm. Then, it took 55 minutes after ordering for our... More

Although the restaurant has a very nice location (across from the beach), as well as had a nice ambiance, I didn't have a great experience dining as a single. Was seated in dining room as I didn't want the lounge noise. Waiter was less than helpful. All other patrons got a list of specials from friendly servers, I was not... More
