This German-style restaurant (and market) is very good. I ordered the Veal Cordon Bleu dinner and was not disappointed. For just under $10.00, I got a big salad, over 1/2 pound of stuffed veal covered with a hollandaise-type sauce, red cabbage, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes with gravy and a roll. My dinner was very good and I had enough left over... More

While on vacation, we went here for lunch. After waiting an hour for our food, they notified us that they wee out of hamburger rolls. The only options were bread. Who eats a hamburger on bread at a restaurant.? My husband got his first then my children got their burgers on bread with fried onions...ordered them plain! Restaraunt was filthy... More

Most dishes are excellent, just don't order the Jaegerschnitzel! It's FRIED and has no sauce whatsoever. After asking if I received the wrong order, I was told this is the way they serve it all the time. Good beer and the market place is fabulous. You can just about buy anything you're used to having for cooking and baking in... More

This used to be so much better than it is of recent genre. Don't know what is going on. Big John? Help! Tip Top used to be the go-to place for good food and a good time -- I have recommended it to countless tourists -- but for the past several months, the food being served has the distinct stale,... This is a combination German market and restaurant. We had dinner and breakfast there. The menu contains German specialties and typical American food. The food was excellent and the portions hugh. The price was very reasonable with most dishes under $9.00.

My son and husband are both big eaters and they walk out with take out boxes most of the time. we have had terrific breakfasts and great lunches here. Early dinners also. Crowded and noisy. Sometimes waiting is 30 minutes. You order at the desk and then be seated. They will bring the food to you. Very tasty and prices... More

Wonderful with real food and not fritters. All that was missing was the dumplings, otherwise the food was superb. Pleasant staff aswell.

If I'm near Carlsbad and Tip Top Meats is open that means I'm headed to either a great meal or the best European delicatessen ever! The quality and variety of the meats is truly remarkable and they're happy to share cooking tips. The rest of the store has the most amazing selection of food, drink, and cooking supplies. The restaurant... More

Tip Top Meats is a great place to buy excellent meats. It's really a hidden jewel in the North County. I buy my Corned Beef there every year for St. Patty's day. Also it's great to know the business supports local 4-H and FFA programs buy purchasing their animals at the fair. In addition they have an excellent little collection... More

Awesome food... Not the best atmosphere... But very good for a reasonable price. German potato salad was the best I have ever had.
