If you want A six pack of colors light and some Farmer John Hot Dogs, then get out of this place and make your way to Wal-Mart. You won't find that here. This is a restaurant/butcher/meat heaven/grocery all-in-one place. You'd think you'd landed in Berlin. They have all kinds of German specialties, from candies and breads to licorice and beer.... Have eaten there twice, and loved it both times. This time I had a lamb shank to die for with wonderful sauerkraut and red cabbage. The portions are huge, so go there with an appetite or plan on taking some home. The first time we went there, it was for breakfast, and it was also very good -- Big John's... More

Ok, I am about as German as they come (most of my relatives live there), and I was really looking forward to trying their Sauerbraten (my gauge for the authenticity of any German restaurant). They absolutely failed.....the meat was tough and inedible, the mashed potatoes undersalted and you wouldn't find a food one serve salad dressing our of a package.... More

Who would think a place called Tip Top Meats would combine a butcher shop, gourmet European groceries, and a wonderful, casual, dining experience. We met a friend here for breakfast. What a treat. The portions are huge, the sausages delicious, and the Big John breakfast, which includes all you can eat of 4 different sausages is enough to satisfy a... More

The only reason I am giving this review a 2, is because of the market. Great selection of German food, including sausages, liverwurst, etc. The food in the restaurant on the other hand was horrible. You order at the counter and then someone brings it to your table, but they don't bother to come back and see if there is... More

Pick your steak out of the deli and have it cooked to eat. This place you walk through the gourmet store up to the counter to order your food to go or to dine in. Beware, the food is really good and the plates are overflowing with food. We ate here for dinner. Definitely coming back!

As a vast majority of the reviews indicate, the restaurant is great. But what makes this place simply amazing is the butcher and European foods available. The butcher sells the highest quality meats/cuts for beef, pork, and lamb in all of southern California. There are a dozen or more types of European sausages freshly made on site. Cold cuts. A... Bring a big appetite to this off the beaten path restaurant! The portions are huge and the food is very German. They have a deli, meat store and groceries from all over the world to enjoy as well.

My husband's aunt raved about this restaurant. She had visited it many times and had great experiences. We must have visited it at the wrong mealtime--I think she went for dinner. We went for breakfast. We both ordered the eggs benedict. At this restaurant you order at the counter. The young woman who took our order asked if we wanted... More

Tip Top Meats stands alone as a breakfast and lunch spot. It is such a unique place that serves delicious food and provides an experience all at the same place. The line starts snacking through the German meat counter and delicatessen as soon as the doors open. Don't let put you off because it moves fast. Regulars and newbies can't... More
