There are very few places like this left anymore, which is probably why the place is always packed. Despite a small, crowded dining area, they do a huge breakfast business and if you want to find quality meats or European food, this is the place. The butchers are very helpful and knowledgable. It's a true Carlsbad establishment.

This is a truly authentic German bierkeller (beer hall) on U.S. soil that offers as good a variety of traditional German dishes as any one in Germany, such as sauerbraten, rouladen, bratwurst, knackwurst, sauerkraut, red cabbage, etc., etc. In addition to all day dining, there is complete breakfast service with emphasis, naturally, on meats. The only drawback is that in... More

Located in the back of a German supermarket, a long lined formed constantly. The food is cheap, good quality and the portions are massive. However the service could be quicker and more efficient.

Their filet mignon, prime rib and New York steak meal were top notch. For $14.98, you get a huge piece of meat, perfectly done at medium rare, baked potatoes and a veggies of choice. The food was delicious. We didn't like the cabbage roll, but the rest it was very good.

After a fun trip to the Carlsbad outlet mall, we went to Top Top for late lunch. We had been told there were long lines so we timed it to miss the regular lunch crowd. The four of us each ordered different dinners. They were all delicious. My friend ordered the ribs and has said they were fantastic and she... More

We went to Tip Top Meats to eat and shop! We did some wish list shopping before we ordered our meals. The prices were a little high, but they had things there that we hadn't seen before. The temptations were great, but $9 for a small bottle of mustard was a little much for our pocketbooks! I had fantastic kielbasa!... More

Great German fare with generous servings at very reasonable prices. Great selection of beers. Deserts are wonderful. Informal atmosphere. Located close to I5 off ramp at Palomar. Great deli and a vast selection of imported food and condiments.

I always go to Tip Top for the Deli meats and organic local meats. Their dinner and breakfast deals are better than what you can find in Las Vegas on the strip. For breakfast, eggs, unlimited meat, toast, hash browns all for around $5 bucks? For dinner, steak, salad, soup, sides, and a mug of beer or glass of wine... More

The German food is outstanding - huge quantities for rock bottom prices. The cafeteria style ordering line during peak hours can get long but it's well worth the wait. Sunday morning breakfasts are also great.
