Yes, the location is kind of special. But you still can't see the ocean, can you Armenian Cafe? If anyone knows of a North County equivalent to Mama's Bakery and Deli down in North Park, San Diego, please let me know! more

Four day stay in Carlsbad included the goal of never repeating a restaurant. However, the breakfast was so good, the Armenian Cafe lured us back three mornings. Had to chuckle about the Armenian Cafe making the best "Belgium" waffles but they were light and tasty with fresh strawberries. The scrambled eggs were exceptionally tasty. The Armenian hot cereal was worth... more

We were misled by the restaurant's name. There was absolutely nothing Armenian in the restaurant: 1) The atmoshphere is NO WAY Armenian - the decorations contain not even a trace and semblence of Armenian element in them. Even the music was overwhelmingly , heavily Arabic. 2) The food is NO WAY Armenian - they have nothing from the traditional Armenian... more

Management response from
Armeniancafe, owner

The Armenian Cafe is owned & operated by an Armenian Lebanese Family. Our cuisine is AUTHENTIC Armenian/Lebanese. Our cafe's street sign indicates the Armenian Cafe's name as a MEDITERRANEAN & GREEK cuisine. Our cuisine is NOT EASTERN armenian as might the reviewer thought especially that were recommending eastern armenian restaurants in glendale. If there is an interest in that kind...

No real views of the ocean, but good location near the beach. Have a nice breakfast with your family and take a walk on the beach more

we had dinner here one night and the food and service was incredible. We follolwed out waitors recommendation for appetizer, entrees and dessert and had a memorable dining experience -- comparable to meals we had in Greece. We enjoyed it so much we went back for breakfast and it was wonderful too. We will definitely go back next time we... more

I went there for the first time as a suggestion from one of the locals. If you like Greek food, you must try this place! The flavors are terrific! The service is excellent! The hummus is fabulous! Just order what sounds good and it will be! They even have belly dancers on Friday and Saturday! more

Service people are excellent. They can really help pick something out for the "unsure" of what to order. We love the chicken-lemon soup, Lamb Kebobs and kataif dessert is super good. We have eaten breakfast also and find all the food we have eaten very very good. I will always stop by when I drive to Carlsbad from Phoenix. Keep... more

Wow, the previous review was pretty nasty! We did not have a similar experience. We recently stayed in Carlsbad and ate here 3 times during our stay. The first 2 visits were for breakfast and it was great. The egg dishes were great as well as the fluffy waffles. We had lunch on our 3rd visit and thought the gyro... more

I decided to try the restaurant again after a long absence. It's even worse than before!! A real tourist trap..food is awful, overseasoned and over cooked in typical "Mexicans in the Kitchen" fashion. I had the lamb kabab. The menu states, "No one makes lamb like us!" YOU CAN SAY THAT AGAIN! I wanted to barf!! When I told the... more
