The first restaurant was opened in 1983 in San Diego by Ralph Rubio and his father, Ray, who started the fish taco phenomenon that spread across the nation. Today, Rubio’s menu has grown from The Original Fish Taco® to include additional chef-crafted seafood recipes that feature shrimp, wild salmon and ono. In addition to sustainable seafood, Rubio’s offers chargrilled chicken and steak, fresh made guacamole and salsas and sauces that are prepared daily.

Fresh food and healthy

We love Rubio's because it is fresh and healthy food. If you love Mexican food you can choose like spicy or mild one. My children they love the taco.

We had a good family meal here. The children each got a kid's meal and had several choices. My husband got the fish tacos and I had nachos with shrimp. There was plenty of seating (we ate on the patio) and our food was very good. Will return next time we are in the area.

Not impressed at all by this place as the fish and shrimp tacos we ordered seem more like out of a box than locally cooked. The only coo thing is that they had craft beer to go along with your food, other than that didn't really like it.

My wife and I were actually able to split the shrimp taco deal for lunch and it was all we needed until dinner. I have never really gone to a Rubio's because I thought it was too expensive, but my wife wanted to go while we were in Carlsbad and the food is so generous and so fresh, I will... More

Lunch or Dinner, this is a family favorite. For those who aren't local, you might be wondering - Fish Tacos? Really?! But - you really need to try these. They are great - or anything else on the menu. You will be surprised - it's not your standard fast food

Rubios is famous for its fish tacos and these were great. Love this kind of fast food. Nothing bad about this one either.
