For some reason, the counter closed. It is too bad, was a unique place where you could design your own burger with very different ingredients. Great location and close to shopping in Carlsbad and Encinitas. Hope they have another location.

This place was recommended to us by some locals. Great menu selection...great food, but a little on the pricey side.

Great food. No matter what you order, it is distinct and tasty! The menu is very diverse, and you can get things here that no other restaurant offers! Bar has a good selection and the beer choices are solid. My wife does not eat meat, however her turkey burger was amazing. Sliders are awesome, but the burgers......wow! On our last... More

California is cracking down on beef cooked 'very rare'. But The Counter delivers, and with a wide assortment of toppings, cheeses, buns or greens, and sauces. It is a true cure for those who need a beef fix. Also available meats include bison & chicken. Apart from that, I'd pass on the extras. Fries are skinny and go cold; other... More

Great selection of burgers. They have something for everyone. The fries are especially tasty. Good place for a family.

The Counter has the best burger food, but it also has by far the most expensive prices. We don't really understand why so many young families will go there and spend so much money. But for those who can afford it and money is not an issue, the burgers and food are excellent quality. Be ready to spend about $15/pp... More

We've eaten at the Counter in LA before... and we were not disappointment at this location of The Counter. The only issue is they are very busy at this location and you can't make reservations. So make sure your group is not SUPER hungry as you might have to wait for 30-45 minutes.

We went for lunch on a Sunday. In my opinion there is nothing about this restaurant concept that makes is worth the price. The service was slow, unfriendly and unhelpful. The food was just average. There are much better lunch places and burger joints within a short distance of this restaurant. - I would recommend going to any of those... More
