Great Milkshakes!

This was a pick by my son who wanted to eat here. The food was reasonably priced and the main attraction is the milkshakes. It is at the end of the pier so you have great views of the shoreline or the ocean. Loved being able to relax with good food and views.

Just ok for me. When I do shopping at Carlsbad outlet I will stop in here for breakfast if Starbucks has a huge line outside for coffee. The staff is great, but the coffee is so so. Breakfast is breakfast, no big deal. Try it if you are hungry and want something fast.

You must go down to the pier in Carlsbad and enjoy Ruby's burgers, yes a tourist trap, but just a few blocks away is the house that was used in Tom Cruise movie Top Gun

The place was clean, well-lit, and the staff was prompt and pleasant. I had breakfast of eggs Benedict. I've had worse. I've had much better. It was good enough that I'd go back for breakfast, but I probably wouldn't order eggs Benedict again.

I love this retro eatery and I visit any time I am within its presence. The atmosphere is matched with its classic diner food. Try the breakfast menu and/or the shakes. They are worth the visit alone. The prices are family friendly.

We love Rubys. It's a chain but consistently good food. My favorite is their mushroom burger with a veggie patty. Top it off with one of their tasty shakes! My kids love watching the model train above our heads. My only complaint is that the bathroom could be cleaner.

We go to Ruby's a couple of times a month. The atmosphere is geared towards families, but as long as you can handle some noise from children, it is a great place to go for some old fashioned malts, shakes and hamburgers. That's not to say they don't have healthy options available (salads, turkey burgers, soup). Our waitress, Liz, was... More

We had clam chowder and chili, and they were good. as was the hot chocolate and the cherry shake ( why they dropped the black cherry is a mystery). Burgers were way overpriced. Pet peeve: Menu doesn't list soft drink prices/

Ordered the pulled pork BBQ sandwich with coleslaw. Everything was very tasty and the fries were actually PERFECT. There were large chunks of pork and cabbage that I wasn't expecting, but it was still very tasty. I had to cut some of the cabbage into smaller pieces but I didn't see that as a problem...probably because it tasted so good.... More
