A Restaurant in Need of a Makeover

Gregorio's is a great candidate for "Restaurant Impossible" or one of the other makeover shows. The inside hasn't been updated in many years. In spite of that, we enjoyed our dinner here. My scallops and risotto was very good as was my wife's gorgonzola, chicken and broccoli pasta. The service... read more

We vacationed in Carlsbad and enjoyed eating some great Italian food here. We sat at the bar, had a great wine with our scrumptious meal. Whitney was great, friendly and whipped us up a special pre-dinner cocktail. Every time we visit this lovely little village town, we dine at Gregorio's and we are never disappointed.

In other words, very mediocre. This is a an over-priced restaurant best patronized by tourists in downtown Carlsbad. Food was OK, but not worth a return visit.

Went here recently for a group dinner. Sat outside on th 2nd floor patio. Very nice ambiance on the patio and inside the restaurant and bar area. The menu had quite a variety of pastas, safood, chicken dishes. Appetizers were good, but not outstanding. When the mozzerella sticks are the best, something has happened to the flavor. The calamari was... More

This wasn't our favorite Italian restaurant, but we were on vacation & felt like Italian. When my husband's halibut came out very dry, the manager was quick to come over & admit that it had come to them frozen instead of fresh & offered to bring him anything else on the menu. He ended up having a nice scallop &... More

Every time we have eaten at Gregorio's we have been happy with the quality of the food and the service. Prices are very reasonable and the outdoor seating is nice. My favorite is the Meatball Sub. The bread is toasted and crusty, the meatballs are delicious and the sauce is very tasty. When you add the homemade potato chips that... More

Nice atmosphere, large outdoor balcony, on the 2nd story of a small shopping mall. Good service. Price is on the expensive side a bit, good food but our selections were not overwhelming. I had a rosemary chicken salad (with gorgonzola for $2 extra) which was good, fresh vegetables and a very large portion size. Nothing wrong with that! My wife's... More

Great food and atmosphere, patio is comfortable and less noisy than the main room. Spicy shrimp and pasta is incredibly good. Service is good, pleasant ambiance and a large menu of choices makes this a favorite of ours.

We have family that live in Carlsbad, CA close to Gregorio's restaurant, it was our first time eating there... WOW! Even though they had a wait list, it moved quickly and we were seated within 15 minutes of our arrival. They have an excellent menu, many items to choose from, steak, pasta, seafood, and a nice selection of wine. We... More

We have lived in Carlsbad for 3 months now, and have been surprised at the abundance of good dining here. Unfortunately, we cannot count Gregorio's in among them. We went there for lunch on Labor Day and it was not crowded. That said, the service was painfully slow. The time between the appetizer being finished and lunch served was at... More
