My sister recommended this place while we were visiting her recently. She had stopped off and gotten clam chowder there before and it was really good. So our on way back from La Jolla we stopped and got lunch. We ordered a kids fish and chips, bowl of white chowder, 3 piece fish and chips, and a kings combo platter.... More

Terrific seafood and bar menu. Great outdoor seating and the wait staff was quite attentive. A good time was had by all and we left anything but hungry and having enjoyed the ambiance and fare.

My food was a little too spicy for me (tomato pasta with shrimp) - but the other 3 dishes were great. The kid's shrimp was really good. We also got the salmon and a chicken sandwich.

Went to Sunday dinner on Labor Day weekend, two families with three kids. Although it was a holiday, it wasn't packed. There was a few empty tables next to us in the bar side of the restaurant. We were seated right away, and we got our order in quickly. It took a while to get bread, and we had to... More

They changed the menu and it's not nearly as good as it was. They were out of swordfish so ordered Ono. Very dry with lots of bones. Vegetable medley was undercooked. Hopefully this was unusual and it will go back to being the great restaurant it use to be.

On a hot summer day, I thought a nice cool salad with seafood would be great. I chose a salad with shrimp and crab. When it came out, it was in a huge wooden bowl with lots of lettuce. But it had two maybe three little shrimp cut up and a small clump of crab. I was there with friends... More

Enjoyed a lovely dinner outside enjoying a gentle Southern California Summer evening. Trout Almondine is a must eat. Make sure to order the sauteed spinach too. It arrives in a tiny cast iron kettle to keep it hot. Got a huge slice of yummy Key Lime pie for dessert. Chelsea was our most excellent server. Try it for yourself.

Our large group was seated immediately on the outdoor patio. Our enthusiastic waitress, Debbie, cheerfully separated our checks and quickly took our orders, since part of our group had to leave early. Everyone enjoyed their food, and while the menu is heavily seafood, even the pasta dishes were good. Prices were a little on the high side for the product.

Last night we ate at King's Fish House in Carlsbad. For reasons unknown I didn't expect much, but I was surprised. I had swordfish, and it was delicious. We had a crab cake, which was also very good. The service was good, and i liked the decor. I will return.
