Since 1981, Las Olas Mexican Restaurant has served the best authentic fresh Mexican food near the beach! Please join us for margaritas, lunch and dinner specials, full bar and craft beers, Taco Tuesdays, Happy Hour Monday thru Friday till 6 pm, group parties, dog friendly patio dining, great service, and an amazing atmosphere! The menu allows customers a wide variety of options: Build your own seafood, chicken, pork, or carne asada tacos, enjoy delicious favorites like roasted chili relleños stuffed with fall-off-the-bone-tender carnitas, or delight in our seasonal grilled vegetable enchiladas. Met here for a business lunch recently. I love Mexican food and it had been years since I last ate here. The meal started off okay as the chips and salsa were decent. The tacos I ordered had very little steak in them and tasted bland at best. It was also so loud the day I was there with voices... More

There are so many other great places to eat along the coast. Our food was very bland, even the margaritas tasted watered down and weak. I would not recommend this place. It is a tourist trap.

Las Olas sits on the PCH in Cardiff where the road is nearly on the beach. You can't sip margaritas and stare out into the big blue though since Olas is on the opposite side of the PCH and the road sits higher than the restaurant. This is the birthplace of the fish taco and all though others make that... More

Food at both locations was mediocre. Mystery why this packs them in. Ingredients don't seems fresh. Chicken dishes use dark thigh meat that seems greasy. Nothing distinctive about their tortillas or sauces. Very bland.

The first time we visited, we were driving down from Anaheim area and stopped by for lunch on our way to San Diego. Also was my first visit to CA, so I had to try fish tacos. Wow! Yummy each time! I got shrimp tacos last time and they were good as well. Chips and salsa are very good too... More

Because it is one of the few more casual restaurants on this strip it is very busy. The food is good and very much like the standard Mexican food from years ago. Margaritas were very good and we enjoyed it since we had children with us and it didn't feel formal.

This is a good, standard Mexican fare. It gets super busy, so try going in an off time if possible. I'm not sure if they take reservations or not. There is a dirt parking lot (yeah, this place is not fancy), but I would imagine it gets filled up at times. They sat us at the worst table imaginable -... More

Right across from the ocean, this inviting landmark always pleases as proven by the long dinner lines waiting outside. Generous portions, full size tables, friendly & helpful staff - and catch that Sunset!!! Their guacamole and nachos are my favorites. The chips are crisp - not greasy. Good place for friends and families. Decor is a bit campy but creates... More
