Very local, very casual, very good

If you plan to visit San Diego, this is one of the must stop breakfast places to get a real feel for surf culture. Big portions, great for teenagers.

This is one of the places I just don't get at all. The lines are long. The food is consistently gross and flavorless. Locals love it. I just don't fit in. I don't get it at all. I have been three times and have always found it disgusting. I have gone again because friends have suggested it. I felt I... More

Pipes cafe would be the best value meal in all of the USA .. Breakfast tortilla , oatmeal and bottomless cup of coffee for 12 bucks , quality and taste , outstanding .. If you are in San Diego don't miss this little gem ..

I love to take the family here when we are in town. It is a great spot to people watch and read the paper while you enjoy your breakfast. Lots of options for grownup and kids alike.

We went here for breakfast with our grandchildren, it is one of their favorite spots. The portions are huge and the atmosphere is great for people watching. It is perfect for a nice day as most is the seating is outside.

This place serves up heaps of eggs and potatoes but the breakfast sandwich is really great. Flavored coffee is a perfect compliment and the surf videos are always current and perfect for that morning coffe before you head out for a surf

On our last day on our trip we decided we wanted a great breakfast spot to grab a bite to go and head to the beach and dine. I remembered reading about Pipes. Easy to find although parking is a bit of a challenge. We stood in line and being New Mexicans for years immediately landed on the breakfast burrito.... More
