Quaint

We were on our way to a Thai place someone had recommended when we walked by this place. On their chalkboard outside they listed a special of lamb shank for the evening. My husband loves lamb and the only time he gets it is when we go out as I don't like or cook it. They had just opened so... read more

The place is small but the staff is friendly- very jovial environment. The food was very good Italian and they have some great daily specials which we have always tried when we go. It is very near the beach so you can stroll there after dinner. Would recommend.

We enjoyed a really nice meal at Carusos. The food was excellent; the gnocchi was among the best I've ever tasted, and the wood fired pizza was as close to true Italian as you're likely to find here in California. It's a stone's throw from Capitola beach, and it's very small; we arrived early on a weekday, but there were... More

This tiny restaurant serves the very best Bolognese sauce that is on their lasagna as well as some pasta dishes. My dish was fettuccine, (with the sauce of course), and was served in a conical shape that kept the pasta very warm, and yummy, throughout the meal. My wife had their carpaccio carne with a generous serving of capers, red... More

This quaint little place is nothing but quality. From the nice waitresses and owner, to the amazing food we ate. We all were fixated on the special, Chicken Parmesan, which was so tender and most...I couldn't help but eat all of it despite my stomach saying stop! Out waitress who said she was new definitely earned her tip and was... More

We were lucky to walk in around 6pm last night on a Sunday evening and grab 2 seats at the counter. The only down side to the counter is that the counter is very high, while the seats are a bit low, so it is not the most ergonomically friendly spot to dine, but we did not want to wait... More

We had to wait an hour for a table next door at Cava Wine Bar. Lovely wine and calamari appetizer kept us satisfied during wait. Was it ever worth the wait! Lamb with balsamic reduction was so tasty and incredible. Risotto with shrimp, clams, mussels and calamari in tomato sauce was delicious. The salmon was prepared perfectly with a tomato... More

Besides have an excellent food experience, we thought the wait staff was wonderful. Our waitresses were cheerful, a little sassy (on the good-natured side) and brought a nice atmosphere to the dining experience. The was well prepared and the wine selection was paired well with the food. Located 1/2 block from the sea-shore in old-town Capitola, this was a very... More

Ranked #1 in capitola, deserves every star hands down. Drove down to Capitola to see the beach and maybe shop, after a storm and before Christmas. Quaint, quiet town on the winter. Decided to stay for dinner, after being intrigued by menu at caruso's. Greeted by new owners Melissa and Carlos, extremely gracious. We decided to try the asparagus and... More

Excellent food & fantastic service. Place is smaller (8 tables) so get there early. Gnocchi like mama used to make and a Tiramisu that is not to be missed. Jason (my server)...thanks for the tip on the Redwood forest nearby, I really enjoyed the hiking
