I can't lie - this place was a little overwhelming! There were so many wonderful choices - you scan their MANY items they have displayed behind glass and they box it up for you. You can sample anything and everything first if you wish! I LOVED the kale salad and thoroughly enjoyed the polenta casserole! On the other side of... More

We had lunch at Gayle's Bakery Friday July 25. We drove to the coast for a fun day of lunch and the fabulous weather. Gayle's was on our list to give a try and we had a great experience. I had the Divalo? Chicken breast, and the shell pasta with spinach & gonzola? cheese. My daughter had the tri tip... More

We'd been recommended to go here for lunch by a friend, and boy, was it better than expected. Despite the bit of chaos and confusion about the deli-service system and the noisy dining area, we really enjoyed our food. We each had a chicken-based sandwich and the the house-specialty drinks of cold camomile tea with lime and an Arnold Palmer... More

This is a fave with locals and tourists alike. You take a number and eventually get waited on, then order away! There is a food side and a bakery side. I actually think the food is better than the bakery, but both are good. There is also a coffee bar to go along with your sweets! On a recent visit... More

This place is a must. They have got the recipe down for what people want, what they want to eat, how they want to have it served to them, and in what atmosphere. It is fun, casual, and it offers a lot of choices from fruits, vegetables, great coffee, all kinds of pastries and desserts, and on and on. Definitely... More

We always make a visit to Gayle's when we are in Santa Cruz! No matter what time of day it is always busy, but after taking a number then we have time to choose. One side is the rotisserie and the other the bakery. Everything is delicious!

First things first. Be careful parking here. The lot is always busy, and drivers ignore the one way signs and "Do Not Enter" markings. If possible stay on the public streets... Now you're inside make your way to the ticket machine. You'll have plenty of time to 'shop' around the display cases. There's hot food and Rotisserie chicken, cold foods... More

Whether you're just stopping by for dessert or a whole meal, this bakery has it all. Whenever I'm in the Capitola area, I always make an effort to stop here. All the food is exquisite, and be sure to pick up a pastry or two for breakfast the next morning.
