Friendly staff with exceptional food! The carrot cake was the best I've ever had and affordable. It's close to the quaint little town of Capitola so you can take your food to go for a picnic on the beach. They have everything from breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and drinks to make the whole family happy. The only down fall is... More

Over the last twenty years, Gayle's has been our favorite spot. They have NEVER let us down. If you are traveling on Highway 1, you MUST stop and enjoy their baked goods and mealtime treats. Wine is available. It will be crowded with locals, as well. Check their website for online ordering to bring goodies to your door.

We were there last year, and our visit this year, for lunch, convinced us to keep coming back. It was VERY crowded, but within 10 minutes or so our order was in and we were soon seated in the covered outside area. If you don't mind some crowds and having to stake out a table, and have no problem picking... More

The desserts were fantastic, we also tried garlic breads and lunch items which were delectable. It was a stop locals do not like to miss, and I can understand why!

A wonderful bakery, always full of clients eager to get their quick meals, bread and pastries. The breakfast biscuit sandwiches are very good, and so are their croissant sandwiches. Gayle's makes a terrific Francese loaf, both in its traditional version and a crustier option (cooked for a shorter amount of time in a hotter oven). The pastries and cakes also... More

This is a great place for coffee. Deceptively large the multiple counter service appears confusing at first but the helpful staff will explain how it all works. Busy at peak times they manage to serve everyone and do it with a smile. Excellent pastries (of course) and good coffee.

Always a nice vibe! There's a bustle at Gayles that's always fun and stimulating. I live up the street, so frequently meet for tea, lunch, desert. Love that you can also avoid the lines by purchasing at the coffee bar. It has a great community feeling. I always run into friends there. It's a great place to get your coffee... More

I can't lie - this place was a little overwhelming! There were so many wonderful choices - you scan their MANY items they have displayed behind glass and they box it up for you. You can sample anything and everything first if you wish! I LOVED the kale salad and thoroughly enjoyed the polenta casserole! On the other side of... More
