Where to begin? From the seasonal delights abounding: summer Gazpacho soup, Matzoh ball soup in winter; their endless variety of Blue Place Specials, such as Turkey Tetrazzini, Salmon places, incredible salads, delicious bbq ribs, Peking chicken, Diavlo chicken - all fit for a King, indeed! Beautifully prepared side dishes, spreads, sandwiches - unlike any other place! A most delightful bakery... More

This place saves me when I am unable to cook. Food's homecooked and good. Hot or cold; full plates or sides; lots of variety and great wheat-free options. Tonight I'm having chicken enchilada and beet, fennel, arugula salad with wheat -free pumpkin loaf for later. You will hear it's pricey but I disagree. I've owned restaurants and they are reasonably... More

Been coming here for years as a Santa Cruz local, and it just dawned on me now that I never reviewed it. It has gotten quite popular over the past few years, and as such waits can be long, the hot food is good, the bakery is great. I order cakes from here a few times a year, and they... More

My fiancée and I went there and were amazed at the selection of delectables. Gayles is the type of place that you feel comfortable trying new things because everything tastes great, and is made with the best possible ingredients. We arrived, picked a number and then tried to decide which of the treats we would enjoy. Gayles has delicious sandwiches,... More

Gayle's now is dabbling in GF baked goods. Some cookies, some breads. If you are GF, support this effort. If Gayle's bakes it, it is always good!

I am happy that Gayle's is doing well. As such, it is VERY crowded at all times of the day. So that says something positive about the food. Here's my brief analysis: Positives: • Pleasant French country atmosphere • Good food (not excellent though) Negatives: • The sandwiches are made early in the morning and put into a cold case.... Gayle's is a a fantastic Place to have delicious Food and Desert. The Cakes are as good as many I have had in Europe. As fussy as I am with my Food I have never been disappointed at Gayle's. Cozy Establishment, friendly Staff.

Every time we head down that way from silicon valley we stop here. It is a complete mad house. You grab a ticket and fight your way to the front when your number comes up, hopefully get their attention before the next number roles forward and then order the food, try to find a table, clean the table because it... I was introduced to Gayle's by a co worker. She brought me lunch from Gayles. The humus and quinoa was so yummy. The Princess cake yummy. I had to go to see for myself. Awesome. Place is kind of overwhelming your first trip but staff are so nice. I tried the spinach gorgonzola pasta and tried a different cake. The... More
