Consistently one of the best dinner experiences. The walk through the gardens calms your spirit. Whether a marriage proposal or impressing an out of town guest or client, this is the place. The mushroom bread pudding is sublime!!! The vegetable strudel was excellent. I would go back and eat just the bread pudding. My husband's steak was perfect and the... More

My husband and I were celebrating his birthday so I made reservations to take him to The Shadowbrook for dinner. We took a little tram down to the restrauant since we did not want to walk down the stairs which is a little steep. Kind of fun and unique. Our waiter told us about the menu and specials they had... Shadowbrook Restaurant has a beautiful garden setting with a unique tram that will take you up and down the steep hill, but I highly recommend the walk through the garden. The building has many levels and nooks for an intimate feel even though it is very large. The food is beautifully presented, fresh, and delicious. They make their own ice... More

Shadowbrook is a special occasion restaurant. Our last time had been about 15 years ago for another special occasion celebration. We enjoyed the ambience as always. It has improved due to additions & remodeling over the years. The chef's garden was a bit barren but it was the time of year (early March 2013) & the creek/river was at low... More

I tried this restaurant several times as a single diner. But this was an unsuccessful strategy. Food uneven in quality. Not taken care of well, even though seated well before larger groups. My meal given to others. Cheap cut of meat given to me.

A wonderful, full of history, hidden restauant on the Soquel Creek. Built as a summer home in 1947, today stands with the original fireplace room. You can walk down to the restaurant through its beautiful gardens or take the 1958 funicular. The service is friendly and know their menu. I suggest calling ahead for reservations and ask to see if... More

This is a landmark restaurant. Either walk down to the restaurant or take the funicular rail down. Cocktails and apps on main level and dining in many quaint rooms.

We were over from the UK visiting our son in the bay area and he treated us to a meal at Shadowbrook for our last night with him. We were enchanted by the ambience of the restaurant. The gardens were lovely and the tiny cable car was great. The restaurant has different dining areas and our table was in a... More
