The food was just okay, but the ambiance was stifling. There was not an empty spot on any wall or ceiling, junk plastered everywhere!!

Doesn't look like much on the outside but, it is sheer eclectic delight. We have been coming here for thirty years. It never changes much, including delicious Mexican food. This little restaurant was a favorite of President Nixon but, also many other celebrities. The gallery of pictures, flags, memorabilia is so much fun to look at. This place does not... More

Our friends in San Clemente took us on our last night with them, a favourite haunt of Richard Nixon (there are pictures of him eating there all over the place, together with toys, footballs, shirts, religious artifacts etc etc. With all the tables taken on a Sunday evening, this gives the place a very good vibe, which does not seem... The interior walls are covered with crazy collections of old figurines, barbie dolls and super hero action figures, signed soccer balls, pictures of President Nixon, beach paraphernalia and a lot of dressed up skeletons. Like a decade of garage sale collecting on display helps your appetite? Anyway, the food is always really good. The salsa is hotter than your average... More

They bring out free chips and salsa and offer you the "fresh" guacamole... It comes out 30 seconds later (not really fresh, straight from the fridge) and don't mention that it is $7.50. I had the grilled fish tostada, and had a difficult time finding the fish. There was a ton of lettuce though, at $8.50 the fish I did... More

Olamendi's has good, authentic Mexican food in a fun atmosphere right down from Doheny Beach. My personal favorites, which I can't get at most Mexican restaurants, are the ceviche tacos and ceviche tostados. Other items are good and authentic, like the chile rellenos. I am disappointed they don't offer a happy hour, which most other restaurants (and definitely Mexican) do... More

We love close and can walk to this local favorite. Only suggestion is to avoid Sundays. They are closed on Mondays and Sunday is only time we weren't happy Carnitas are outstanding. Chips thick and great. .

You will have more satisfaction! If you want to have a Fellini movie experience ending with your pockets turned out, This is the place for you! If there were ever a candidate for fix my restaurant, this it! After reading the previous reviews, adding my specifics are redundant. I will say, I have never had my money stolen so brazenly!... I did ask to add some cheese and they did it right. the waitress was great and the owner Maria still works there and stopped by to... More
