Went there to be with friends for a Christmas get-together. It's the Christmas Season so the only time available was for Brunch. It worked out wonderfully. The food was very good and plentiful, good serving size. The waitress took good care of us. She was able to handle the large group, served us timely and knew when to join in... More

My family has been eating Sunday breakfast at least twice a month here for the last five years. They have a large area in the back with movable tables and chairs that can accommodate parties up to 60 guests. The omelets are large and delicious. They make a chili verde omelet that I love. Their biscuits and gravy and chicken... More

Good ribs and BBQ sauce. I like to try different meats with the sauce and great to dip french fries into. Sides are OK as well. Service though is lacking.

Full slab of ribs was ultra-meaty and not drowned in BBQ sauce. Ribs have a great smoked taste. Some might not like the lack of BBQ sauce on the ribs, but I'd rather dip my my own. These ribs are served dry with a side of sauce. Kid's-size ribs order is perfect for an 11-year-old. The six-year-old loved the cheese... More

We had a reunion with some of my wife's relatives at this restaurant on busy Campbell ave. This is a stand alone restaurant near the Pruneyard shopping center, but all by itself. Faded exterior painted wooden surfaces, that had been weathered for too long -perhaps since the 1950s! Entering the restaurant is like going back in time -way back to... More

I ordered the Original Ribs, junior portion. They were on the dry side, and the sides were just okay. The cole slaw enough for two.

Had dinner at the Hick'ry last night and was truly disappointed. I went for the rib combo. The Original ribs were almost a greenish shade of grey. Edible but barely. The St Louis ribs were much better but still got to just about average. Really liked the Slaw, but the beans and corn left a lot to be desired. The... More

I mostly get breakfast here and that's bacon and eggs. The bacon is thick cut and very tasty. They give you a huge amount of hash browns. I can also recommend the biscuits and gravy, the French dip (although I'm not crazy about the Dutch crunch roll) and their pork chops! Most of the meats are smoked and you can... More

I was disappointed in the beef ribs, slaw, etc for a BBQ place, but whoa!, their breakfasts are great. Good value, good food, great service. The pies look REALLY inviting, but I'm resisting temptation - so far.....

The Original Hick'ry Pit on Campbell Avenue has been there for (seemingly) decades. The fare is basic barbequed meats (chicken, pork, beef) and burgers with all the fixings - salads, bbq beans, fire roasted corn, and so on. Food is good, generous portions and reasonable prices. Excellent bbq sauce served with everyhting. The Pit also has pastries and pies cooked... More
