Full slab of ribs was ultra-meaty and not drowned in BBQ sauce. Ribs have a great smoked taste. Some might not like the lack of BBQ sauce on the ribs, but I'd rather dip my my own. These ribs are served dry with a side of sauce. Kid's-size ribs order is perfect for an 11-year-old. The six-year-old loved the cheese... More

We had a reunion with some of my wife's relatives at this restaurant on busy Campbell ave. This is a stand alone restaurant near the Pruneyard shopping center, but all by itself. Faded exterior painted wooden surfaces, that had been weathered for too long -perhaps since the 1950s! Entering the restaurant is like going back in time -way back to... More

I ordered the Original Ribs, junior portion. They were on the dry side, and the sides were just okay. The cole slaw enough for two.

Had dinner at the Hick'ry last night and was truly disappointed. I went for the rib combo. The Original ribs were almost a greenish shade of grey. Edible but barely. The St Louis ribs were much better but still got to just about average. Really liked the Slaw, but the beans and corn left a lot to be desired. The... More

I mostly get breakfast here and that's bacon and eggs. The bacon is thick cut and very tasty. They give you a huge amount of hash browns. I can also recommend the biscuits and gravy, the French dip (although I'm not crazy about the Dutch crunch roll) and their pork chops! Most of the meats are smoked and you can... More

I was disappointed in the beef ribs, slaw, etc for a BBQ place, but whoa!, their breakfasts are great. Good value, good food, great service. The pies look REALLY inviting, but I'm resisting temptation - so far.....

The Original Hick'ry Pit on Campbell Avenue has been there for (seemingly) decades. The fare is basic barbequed meats (chicken, pork, beef) and burgers with all the fixings - salads, bbq beans, fire roasted corn, and so on. Food is good, generous portions and reasonable prices. Excellent bbq sauce served with everyhting. The Pit also has pastries and pies cooked... More

I tried the fresh ground burgers the first time and haven't tried anything else since. Burgers are big & juicy, served w/ fries. The burgers aren't cheap, but not too pricey either ... about $10 which includes fries. Typical diner - nothing special, but the service is good. They have fresh baked pies, but been too full to try.

This was one of the worst meals I have ever had. The 'world famous original ribs' were very fatty, greasy and completely lacking in flavour, the St. Louis ribs hardly any better. Even the coleslaw was awful, being coated in some kind of sugary syrup rather than mayo. If you like soft, tender ribs that have been marinated to be... More

Good as always. A little pricey, but the meat is incredible. Everything is smoked on the premises. I had the French Dip with Tri-Tip. Don't forget to try the coleslaw. It's the best.
