Small Gem in Cambria CA

When we visit Cambria CA, we always have a meal at the Wild Ginger Cafe. It is small - but mighty when it comes to delicious Asian food. This time I had the soup special, an Indian lentil soup and the sesame chicken. Everything was fresh and tasty. For dessert, I had the raspberry mango crisp... read more

We love, love at hai cuisine, so we were excited to spot Wild Ginger on Trip Advisor with decent ratings. So we gave it a shot. Lunch time, we were the only two in the house at that time, small, cutely decorated. Nice selection on the menu too. Decided on chicken satay appetizers, eggplant curry and pad Thai. All the... Had the whole fish special. Fried just right so that the small bones and skin are edible and the flesh is moist. Flavors off the chart. Wonderful raw or fresh vegetable and fruit as sides. Can't match this at home.

Wild Ginger is a one of a kind Asian fusion cafe. Deborah Mok, the owner and chef, is a creative soul and a fun person. She's likely to come over to your table and ask about your dining companion's earrings or sweep the crumbs from your table if you are eating in a particularly messy way. She treats people as... The food here is just like Singapore it is an amalgamation of multiple cultures. There could be Indian Malaysian or British food. The dishes are good and the atmosphere is nice but if you're expecting mainstream cuisine this is not it. Owner is great and cares about your experience

As a local, I patronize this restaurant a few times a year. I also love to take visitors here. It's small, but scrumptious and the chef will accommodate your dietary requests. Great place, good atmosphere and yummy food.

The restaurant itself is tiny, seating only about a dozen people. There is some additional outdoor seating for warm days. The menu is eclectic, leaning toward very fresh Asian cuisine. They have a lot of ready made salads which are always delightful and good for takeout. You can also get wine and beer. Prices are reasonable.

As local residents, we consider the Wild Ginger to be our favorite. Sometimes when we are going out we think about trying another place, but we always come back to the Wild Ginger. I love the tang on my tongue a few hours later that reminds me of the wonderful meal I had. The atmosphere is quaint and Debbie is... More

We had lunch here a couple of days ago and were not impressed. Our server was warm and personable but the food was mediocre and kind of bizarre . Another reviewer mentioned that the Pad Thai isn't authentic and that is an understatement . Mushy noodles with broccoli, butternut squash, snap peas, and shrimp is not pad Thai. It was... More

We ate last week at the Wild Ginger. My friend had the Glazed Scrimp. She ate everything and said it was wonderful.. I had a mushy Pad Thai, with a Strawberry garnish.. which is weird and a bunch of vegetables (butternut squash, red carrots and broccoli) that have NO place on a Pad Thai. The wait staff recommended this.. I... More
