The place for fresh oysters!

A very popular place! They open at 5:30 and folks start lining up around 4:30. No reservations and cash or check only. The food was expensive but very good. The staff was attentive and the food came out quickly. The place is a little dated and worn, however.

This place looks cutesy nautical on the outside, but clearly looks are deceiving. This place is a wolf in sheep's clothing. What with California being a progressive state regarding the environment and all, I would have thought you would never find shark on the menu, but apparently this restaurant missed the bulletin... Hello???? Serving shark? In this day and age?... More

An amazing place. The atmosphere was very warm & friendly. Be prepared to have a wait, as it gets extremely busy but can have a bottle or glass of wine while you wait. You won't be the only ones, and other patrons are extremely friendly and welcoming. Definitely a beautiful surprise. The food was incredible. If it's just 2 of... More

We try to make it down to Cambria a few times a year and when we stay on Moonstone we always dine at the Sea Chest. Yes you will wait awhile to be seated, but you can enjoy your own wine by the fire pit to pass the time. The Devils on horseback are a must. They serve water in... More

So we waited nearly an hour to be seated. Then on arrival we were offered only sourdough bread, which I don't like. The butter came in packets, which is pretty 'tacky'. The water is served into plastic cups, what's this about? The fresh fish was really good quality, but my swordfish, and my girlfriends sol lacked flavour. The service was... More

We love this place! I had wonderful calamari and my husband had a huge portion of pasta with marina sauce with shellfish. Wines are very reasonable. Service excellent.

this is a cute restaurant with long lines when they open because they are known for their fresh fish which is what attracted us to it. I was raised by a fisherman so I love fish and since my favorite is Petrale sole, that is what I ordered. It was over cooked and bland in flavor and very disappointing. I... More

I don't think we have ever been to a restaurant where people line up around 4pm to get into a restaurant that opens at 5pm. But there is a large number of 'in the know' people who do this all the time. They bring good cheer, conversaitons with those they know and don't and truly a collective mentality. All that... More

Just make sure you get there early enough to get in line as it is most popular! Worth the wait if you love oysters as much as we do!

Best seafood around for many miles. One of only 2 restaurants right on the ocean. Beautiful view. The staff is so nice and cordial. The food is to die for. Get the scallop/scampi combo. Buttery sauce, seafood cooked to perfection, delicious veggies. Sit at the bar and see the cook's floor show. Very entertaining. Don't miss this place.
