My wife and I go there on special occasions....We love to sit at the oyster bar, and watch the chef's make the food right in front of us. You better get there early, the line goes down the street. You can bring a bottle of wine, and have a glass or two while you wait for the restaurant to open,... More

we found this restaurant by accident. The wait was short since it was a Monday. The wait staff was customer-oriented and friendly. The food was great and plentiful. The sea bass, local fish, was great and nicely cooked, very light. The cioppino was wonderful, fresh and again, plentiful. We also had local oysters and were fresh. Great place to eat... More

Any good seafood restaurant needs to buy fresh quality fish. The chef should have thrown out the fish that was served to us. As soon as I saw it I could tell it wasn't fresh and was a poor cut of fish. I had what was supposed to be fresh local sea bass which was dry and old (but not... More

The restaurant itself is situated directly across the street from moonstone beach, looking out into such a picturesque setting! If you go on a Saturday evening, be prepared to wait (about 45 minutes to an hour). Thankfully, you have the option of waiting in their tiny (english pub style) waiting area which is quite stuffy or you can relax out... More

We arrived on the later side (I'm told there's a wait earlier), about 8:30. We were seated immediately. When we couldn't decide on wine, we were offered tastes, which I really appreciate. There was a chalkboard listing all the fresh fish. My husband had a local sea bass that was perfectly cooked. They were also happy to deal with his... More

Going to this restaurant on a Saturday night in July is really toying with Lady Luck. The door of the restaurant is locked till 5:30. That's when the many people standing in line are able to enter. It was a thrill to be among those lucky enough to be in the first seating. We had Halibut and King Salmon, clam... More

The salad was the best part of the meal...very fresh. The bass was also fresh but bland as were the accompanying veggies, and the calamari steak was ok. I recommend you skip this place and go to Linns in downtown Cambria. Not worth the wait in line nor the price.

Rarely would we expect a restaurant so far off the beaten path to be so good. Yet here in Cambria, on a relatively small beach in the middle of nowhere, we had a fabulous meal. We asked for the local White Sea bass, but I am almost certain we were served Alaskan halibut that was extremely fresh and cooked to... More

recommended by several people. Just arrived and asked for a table, that was no problem, had a drink and only waited a short while. It reminded me of an old English pub. Cash only was no problem. We thought it was a bit pricy at first, but you get clam chowder and oyster crackers as a starter in the price.... More

Every time we go to Cambria, we include a meal at the Sea Chest. We had our granddaughter with us this time and she devoured an entire pot of mussels! Hubby and I always have the Calamari steak...BEST ever! Do not Mis this place but line up at least -/2 hour before opening! It's POPULAR!
