This was the best food we had on our trip from San Francisco to San Diego its delicious . They are so busy that they have a fire pit outside for you to wait around and chat with other guests. We had 2 bottles of local Napa Valley wine clam chowder swordfish and maihi maihi . Both came with vegetables... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and with good reason. A lively, convivial atmosphere and delicious seafood made for an excellent evening.

We arrived early as had been told to by the locals. Service was ok considering how busy they were. Our food was just ok, our expectations had been built up so we left a wee bit disappointed We won't be waiting in line again, but we can say we've been there.

We stayed at an Inn in walking distance and were advised to dine early or be prepared for a wait. We went to the restaurant later than advised an were told of a 1 1/2 hour wait. While there is nice seating outside ( fire pit included) we elected to place our names on the waiting list and walk back... More

We were looking forward to visiting the Sea Chest due to the good reviews, but we were highly disappointed. We waited the obligitory 45 mins for a table, but that was OK as we were sitting outside in front of a fire pit facing the sea with a drink in hand chatting to other couples. When our call came we... This has to be the most popular restaurant in Cambria, and if you adjust your expectations because it is a beach town, it is very good. They always seem to be packed and therefore the service is a bit slow, but everyone is nice and the fish is fresh.

We enjoyed a great dinner and watched the sun go down. Beautiful evening. When we asked for the best place to have dinner, this was the first place mentioned. There was a line outside the building 30 minutes before it opened. So it had to be good. We came back an hour later and there wasn't a wait at all... More

There are only two restaurants on Moonstone Beach in Cambria. The Sea Chest and Oyster Bar is one of them. It is a very good choice for a fresh and nicely prepared seafood dinner. Expect though to pay for it. Our dinner for two including tax and tip (no drinks or dessert) came to about $90. But the fish (Halibut... More
