Pork Chop to Die For

Went to Black Cat Bistro based on other reviews. We were not disappointed. The pork chop( which is a seasonal dish) was out of this world and the parsnip puree it rested on was unbelievable. The "Common Ground" Zin was great. The whole meal, service, wait staff were terrific. Will return if we... read more

Had a room to ourselves and was very quiet but older building. The Scallops with currants were good; The Po de Creme dessert was very good. The Harmony Cabernet wine is quite good and locally grown. Dinner cost just over $100 and was good, although for the price I've had better.

We made a trip to San Simeon for the weekend and made a reservation in advance. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 7:45pm reservation. We were seated promptly and all the staff were amazing. Such a great menu too! We were so stuffed from our late lunch we weren't able to have dessert but they looked amazing! If... More

This place was on a quick stopover and by recommendation from our B&B owner. The service was the best we experienced on our tour - knowledgeable, professional and not pushy. The food was really good although a bit on the expensive side - but worth it.

We were welcomed by the new owner and she made sure that we had an excellent evening of quality food prepared by her husband the chef. They are working hard from the start to get everything right and they are doing it right.

Wonderful, homey space. Our server and also the new owner took great care of us with attentive but unobtrusive service. Highlights of the meal included a superb local cheese plate, the "pork and beans" and the luscious braised lamb shank. All of the dishes were prepared with care and attention to the great ingredients. It doesn't get any better than... More

Darling little restaurant in the town of Cambria- after a long day of touring in the area we stopped in to the Black Cat after reading recommendations from trip advisor. We were treated to great service and unusually good food. The menu was small - yet we each found something tempting. The desserts were a real treat!

This little gem is nestled in the small town of Cambria, while drive along the coast of California we spend the night in Cambria. Upon asking at front desk for a restaurant where to have dinner, The Black Cat was first on the list! Now I know why. The food was great and so was the wine! Their pasta with... More

I was traveling with my parents, and siblings, and based on some internet research decided to give the Black Cat Bistro a shot. We made a reservation, and were seated immediately on arrival. The waiter was friendly and seemed pretty knowledgable about the menu. The food was good -- reminded me of several of the new American style restaurants that... More

My wife and I stopped by early in the evening hoping to have an appetizer and a glass of wine ahead of a later dinner reservation. Although they were booked for the evening they offered us a table if we could be finished by 7pm. We went for it. Two nice glasses of wine, some pumpkin bisque and a pork... More
