Our innkeeper booked us somewhere else for dinner but we didn't like the menu so we found this through Trip Advisor. We had an incredible dinner of pork belly, abalone, steel head trout and duck breast. Beautifully prepared with great service by a friendly and knowledgable staff. Great recommendation on a bottle of local wine. Highly recommend.

Seriously. You must go to this restaurant. The staff are attentive, the beer/wine is local and delicious and the food, the superlative examples of everything you've ever tasted.

The food was great. The wait staff very friendly. The wine selection by the glass was local. The atmosphere was very pleasant. A great experience all around.

The decor and ambiance are cozy, but this wasn't the upscale experience we'd expected. The service was ok, but a bit absent-minded. It felt as though they were understaffed for a summer weekend. The food was good, but nothing to rave about. I had the rabbit, which wasn't quite as good as my husband's steak. The appetizer's were more impressive... More

We try to eat here twice a year on our Cambria visits, The polenta is to die for and my wife has enjoyed the seasonal fish dishes (sea bass, tuna, etc.). They all have been consistently outstanding. The fresh tomato soup was terrific (so fresh) and the seared salad just popped! The sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Service... More

We love to go to the Black Cat when we visit Cambria, a small and lovely restaurant. We have been there about 5 times. Our dinner was delicious. Only glitch we had was ordering wine because the first 2 we chose were sold out. Yes, we had to pay for our water, but with Cambria's water shortage we totally understood.

The food was very good. That's about the only good thing I can say about our experience, and for the price of the meals that's not nearly enough. There was no ambiance or charm and they staff seemed to think our dining experience was about them and not about us. The room we were in was small but loud. Worse,... More

My wife and I enjoyed an anniversary dinner at the Black Cat. When I made the reservation online I included that we were visiting for our anniversary. We were greeted at the door by the host with a "Happy Anniversary" greeting, and the waiter started us off with complimentary sparkling wine. My wife had the polenta, and I had the... More

A friend took us to this restaurant and we loved it! We sat at the bar and enjoyed meeting other people as we ate our dinner. I'd never had bacon jam but don't think anyone could do it much better! Yummy. My husband got the duck and I had a bite and it was the best duck I have ever... More

Black Cat Black Cat you are all that Cat. Service is great and the food is too. Ignore the L.A. and Bay Area Snobs they forget this is a sorta mountain town of 6000 or so laid back Cat.
