I was traveling with my parents, and siblings, and based on some internet research decided to give the Black Cat Bistro a shot. We made a reservation, and were seated immediately on arrival. The waiter was friendly and seemed pretty knowledgable about the menu. The food was good -- reminded me of several of the new American style restaurants that... More

My wife and I stopped by early in the evening hoping to have an appetizer and a glass of wine ahead of a later dinner reservation. Although they were booked for the evening they offered us a table if we could be finished by 7pm. We went for it. Two nice glasses of wine, some pumpkin bisque and a pork... More

We ate at Black Cat Bistro for dinner. We had the polenta and pasta entrees as well as the toffee pudding for dessert. The food and customer service were wonderful. The atmosphere was great as well. If traveling in or through Cambria - this is a must-do!

I don't know what is the problem with the owner/chef here, but she needs to either keep her voice down or do herself a favor and stay out of her own restaurant and let someone else take the wheel. She was berating her staff in an inappropriate fashion and at unacceptable decibels. She proceeded to rudely comment about some of... More

the service was great, the food delicious, very cozy. We had the pork chops and they were so good, a nice cabernet for a perfect evening. It is intimate and not noisy, at least the night we were there, but definitely busy. We didn't make a reservation but were seated pretty quickly.

The skinny: We visit Cambria sporadically to get away from the big city (LA), and Cambria dining had been pretty basic till we visited the Black Cat. The skinny: It was a quiet Thursday night a week before Thanksgiving and we were welcomed even though we'd not made reservations. Everything on the menu looked great, but because we'd had a... More

Be sure to plan ahead and make reservations for this restaurant when planning your trip to Cambria. They fill up quickly and its always perfection. I have an annoying food allergy, gluten, and the servers are always knowledgeable regarding the ingredients used for any given dish.

Server's descriptions were mouth watering. Everything was great. I had duck on a bed of wilted spinach. It was great -- a hearty dish. Looks small, but can hold a good amount of people. Quiet and comfortable and romantic in the evening.

We have dinner at the Black Cat Bistro whenever we are in Cambria, and believe that it is one of the best restaurants in the area. The food is modern and upscale. My wife had the mushroom and sage gnocchi which she liked. We each had the abalone which was delicious. My desert was a pine nut cheesecake which was... More

The food was just OK, but the atmosphere was quite nice. All four of us agreed the food was OK, but not spectacular. Setting in an old house. Dessert of sticky toffee pudding was very good.
