I had my birthday dinner here...and although at first I was unsure of the quality of the restaurant...I was pleasantly surprised!! The food was fabulous!! The wine was incredible! The service was commendable. I look forward to coming back!!

This is the spot for a great dinner as a couple or with friends. My lamb shank was one of the best I have ever had. My wife loved the salmon. Try the pate if available when you visit.....mine was served with a great jelly on warm French bread...GREAT! Highly recommended and we will go again when back to Cambria.

Black Cat Bistro is one of the top two or three restaurants in Cambria. I always order the roast duck dinner to pair with a personal bottle of Pinot Noir.

It wasn't crowded but we we're put in a room with a very noisy table of four old friends who were quite impressed with themselves and were more than willing to loudly tell how good they were. There were 3other tables. Could have split people up and it would have been more pleasant for the rest of us. Food was... More

Service was good. The curry corn soup was out of this world! The ahi entree had no flavor. Given the price, I expected something special.

We live in the bay area and have been coming to Cambria for years. Our dinner at the Black Cat Bistro one week ago was the best dinner we have eaten in this area ever. Impecable! Salad, scallops, pasta, bread, BEST service, price, ambiance, cozy, romantic. Perfect!

Loved the small house ambiance and idea of locally grown/procured food but found the meal a bit heavy on sauce, sugar and cream... Would have preferred the abalone less fried, the trout with simple veggies instead of soufflé and polenta less soupy.

My hubby and I visit Cambria for romantic getaways twice a year from Los Angeles. It's been over a year since my last review and last meal at Black Cat Bistro. I read some of the recent reviews and wanted to relay my very positive experiences - on two recent nights. I love the cozy warm dining rooms at the... More

This restaurant needs to clean up its act. The bread was uninteresting, the butter very hard, 3 out of our six dishes were poorly done or at best mediocre. The waiter, who may have been new, was confused about what we ordered but worse, confused about the menu. The service in our room seemed very uneven. And the prices were... More

We had heard very good things about the restaurant but were somewhat disappointed. We had three different entrees between the four of us. One rib eye , two trouts, and one scallop dinner. Rib eye was excellent, trout dinners were fair, we've had better. The scallops were $32 and there were only 3, they were good but just 3 scallops... More
