Dessert and champagne

Wonderful service and nice ambiance for sure. We had champagne and dessert after a day at Hearst Castle. My friends and I tried all four of the desserts, superb. The Pistachio ice cream and the po du crem were THE BEST, not too sweet. YUM

This has always been one of our favorite restaurants and the menu is much the same with our favorite items still in play. We did not see the past owner/chef in the kitchen, even though this was the message to patrons. However, our meal was still great: gnocchi, polenta, seared Caesar, etc. The cheese plate was also very good, but... More

Four of us ate at The Black Cat and while the food was good, it was not terrific and some of it was just odd. The gnocci appetizer was great, but the burrata, not so much. The cheese itself was good but it was pitled high with way too much of a caper mixture that was puzzling at best. The... More

Geez. The reviews are stellar. How can our food have been so average? We ordered a New York steak that was cold and rare. it was drowning in a muddy brown sauce with coffee ground something. it was inedible and unsightly. The Buratta was great, but covered in a pile of "pesto" that tasted like old grass clippings. What was... More

No reservation but seated at the (wine) bar with several other customers. Relaxing and comfortable space. Food server is positive, friendly and professional combined with knowledge of the menu. She presented each dish well with an explanation of ingredients. Abalone: Melted in my mouth Pork chop: Brussels sprouts, apple etc. A step beyond perfection Pistachio ice cream with reduction and... An excellent night out with a friend. The tomato basil soup was delicious! I had the lamb shank which was quite literally fall off the bone tender with a wonderful currant-cinnamon sauce...very Moroccan in feel. The desserts were fabulous! I had the sticky toffee pudding, which tasted like Christmas - gingerbread and a fantastic buttery toffee sauce. My friend had... More

This was a nice surprise. It's a house with several dining areas within. The menu had many creative selections. The pork chop was amazing. Pasta with scallops delicious. No hard Liquor but wine was good . I'd go back!

Last night, we went to Madeline's, supposedly the #1 restaurant in Cambria. If someone had asked me how it was, I'd have to say "hmm, ok, fairly mediocre". Tonight, we went to Black Cat Bistro. The cooking was in a totally different league. Night and day. Would I go back to Madeline's? No, I wouldn't bother. Would I go back... More
