Now the "Cafe"....GREAT food!!

The former owners of Sebastian's in San Simeon have relocated and opened a new restaurant in Cambria. My Cheeseburger with Bacon and Blue Cheese was BETTER than the great burgers we used to get at Sebastian's. My wife had the Greek Salad and her opinion was the same...BETTER, if that's... read more

Well... The Tea Cozy is no more. It was a nice tea shop with traditional English offerings but they closed the doors and it is now a deli and sandwich shop. The location is off the beaten tourist path in Cambria. It is on Bridge Street, about a block away from Main Street. The new owners offer delicious sandwiches and... More

We had a very nice time at the Tea Cozy in Jan 2015. The service was great and the pastries and sandwiches were delicious (and more than we could eat). I wish we could go back on our next trip to Cambria but their website states they are now closed. Hopefully they will open again?

Unfortunately, the last 2 times we have visited, within a year, the hostess has been ungracious and dismissive. We used to look forward to visiting the charming British tea room and had trouble deciding between lunch or tea time. The servers try to be pleasant, however, it can be a long wait. The selection of teas and pastries is excellent,... More

While visiting Cambria, my family and I decided give The Tea Cozy a try. It's located in the quaint 1870's Thorndyke House on Bridge Street. It offers a wide array of teas as well as sandwich and dessert options. I ordered the Savory Sausage Roll which came with fresh fruit and choice of soup or salad. I chose salad with... More

We British ex-pats are choosy about our tea and scones, and this charming tea room did not disappoint! We booked to come and the owner, knowing we were from the UK, had the chef bake a fresh batch of scones just in case. I loved my Darjeeling with scones and jam and clotted cream, and my husband was in heaven... More

One of our personal favorites for an authentic tea experience is the Tea Cozy. The selection of teas is very broad including darjeeling, black, and herb teas. The assorted treats are always well prepared. Scones changed a bit since our previous visit but they still arrive at table fresh from the oven. Very intimate space but great for meeting other... Have dined at the Tea Cozy many times. The food is always excellent and beautifully prepared. Original entrees, soups, and deserts never fail to please. An excellent selection of teas. Beautiful garden patio for dining or quaint turn of the century home.

Went here for lunch it was delicious. The tea was perfectly made and a great complement to the sandwiches and sweets. The scone was more like a biscuit but delicious with the clotted cream and jam. The egg salad was so yummy. The atmosphere was very calm and wonderful for sitting and reading for a peaceful hour.

We hadn't been back to the Tea Cozy in a few years, but it was just as good when we returned recently on our way to Hearst Castle. They still serve traditional afternoon tea (we had it at 11:00 in the morning) and you can get the full traditional tea or a scaled down version with just sandwiches and scones... More
