Stick to the basics and you won't go wrong. Sow's ear is known for some basic entrees and those are the ones you should stick to. Two of my guests decided to be daring and found the food bland, while my mainstay dish was quite food. Service is on par with everyone else and wine list has both lower and... More

Fantastic service, unbelievably good food at very good prices. My wife and I went there on the second night of our stay having had a poor first night for food. Steak that fell apart when you looked at it, excellent drinks selection and marvellous staff. cant praise it highly enough.

Out of the last 30 years of operation, this restaurant has had the same chef for the last 25! The result is a combination of creative favorites and new daring delights, all of which are virtually guaranteed to satisfy. They are famous for their lobster corn dog appetizer. In our party we had a steak lover, fish lover and vegetarian... More

Restaurants that aspire to be popular or just good don't do this. 1. Sow's Ear was 3/4 empty and would stay that way throughout my dinner. Yet the hostess directed me to the dark back of the store to a table next to the serving station right outside the kitchen entrance, when a window seat was available. I had to... More

The food was good enough. It wasn't the best fish, but it certainly wasn't bad. The best part was the fun presentation of the bread for the table baked in a flower pot. Service was very good and the decor was fun.

Definitely food of the comfort variety. Service was a bit disjointed but the mixed grill special was very good as was the chicken fried steak. Our waitperson could have used some interpersonal skill training.

We have been to this restaurant multiple times and are never disappointed. Love the Lobster Corn Dogs, Beef Stroganoff, Short Ribs and Pork Tenderloin. The salads with the house honey lime dressing are refreshing. The wine list is limited, but has improved since last visit. Desserts are nothing special, but ice cream is always a welcome treat.

Loved it last year, was afraid it might not be the same the second time. Halibut was perfect, flavorful, flaky and not fishy. The nut crust was crunchy not soggy. Husband's filet was to die for, tender and oh so tasty. Husband's ice tea was real tea and full of taste. I had a $6. House wine and enjoyed it... More

On our way through Cambria up the Pacific Highway. We were told of this resturant by people we met in Sequoia NP, so thought we would give it a go. Excellent. Not to be missed. Good food and good service.

First off this place came highly recommended. First we were greeted with the hostess who's demeanor confirmed the fact that she was irritated by our mere presence. After being greeted by our server who was friendly we ordered drinks and she served us the flower pot bread which was really delicious. For entrees I ordered the honey almond halibut and... More
