We had a very good experience at the Sow's Ear. Very nice and attentive hostess. Very good and prompt service. Ample portions. We had an entrée of the mixed grill and it was very well prepared and more than enough. Quiet with a cozy atmosphere. The flower pot bread is unique and good. Will return.

We walked in to the place in the afternoon to make a reservation for later in the evening, and from there until the end of the meal the service was amazing. Goat cheese, kalamata, stuffed chicken breast was cooked to perfection, and the braised short ribs were melt in your mouth tender. Second time at the restaurant, and will definitely... More

I have been to the Sow's Ear twice and both times were very nice. It is a very cozy comfortable restaurant where you feel relaxed. The service is very good. They serve bread in a little planting pot, it is fresh warm pumpernickle (I believe) and white. The prices are very fair and the portions are a good size. I... More

This place has some seriously great food. I had the chicken and dumplings and my husband had pot roast and both were awesome. I wouldn't let my husband finish his so I could eat it later, it was that good. Mine was fabulous too. Large portions, but not overwhelming and they really focus on the details. Parsley garnish was a... More

This place is amazing. Comfort food to the next level. Beef Stroganoff is my fav. I try to eat something different for dinner every time but i just go to my favorite. Now for their bread, it is served ying yang style with a great blend of wheat and white in a terracotta flower pot a reason all in it... More

In our 17 day tour of California this restaurant in this little town gave us possibly the best meal yet. The place itself is charming (despite its name!) It is family owned and the pride taken with the decor and the food is clear. They are famous, by the way, for their chicken and dumplings which I enjoyed enormously. Go... More

Fillet Steak was divine. The wine superb. Could not fault the food. Staff were so friendly , welcoming and efficient. Such a great end to our short stay in the area. The restaurant was cosy and comfortable and well situated in the middle of town.

Terrific atmosphere--warm, friendly, cozy. Reminds us of English restaurants. Imaginative menu. Food prepared, arranged, and tasted great. Service was perfect. They bake fresh bread of two kinds in a small flower pot and serve it that way. Delicious. We had two great meals with good local wines. We've eaten there for each of our three visits to Cambria over the... More

Small compact restaurant in this very sleepy little town of Cambria, buts lots of eating choices so no room for average or poor food. The Sows Ear is a nice little place, the food options were limited but was very good, the food itself is well prepared and presented, and tasted very nice. Well worth a try !

My husband had steak cooked to perfection. I had the pork with ollalieberry sauce which was delicious. Good wine menu with local wines. Would be really cosy in cooler weather with the 2 sided fireplace.
