I always enjoy eating here. The service is always excellent and the people very warm. The food is gourmet, but not the best in the world. But it is promptly served and always very good. I have never been disappointed when I dine here. They have a popular early bird special that brings them in before 6PM. The Beef Stoganof... more

We normally go to the top two or three restaurants listed on TripAdvisor but we'd been to the Sow's Ear before and really enjoyed it. Should have stuck with TripAdvisor recommendations. Our meal was very mediocre. more

We walked into Sow's Ear because on Wednesday much of Cambria is closed. We had planned to eat at Madeline's. We've been to Sow's Ear in the past and had the same experience as this one. The greeting was very pleasant, the service was excellent. The menu looked interesting and the execution however was run of the mill. There was... more

On a kind of dead main street through Cambria, we walked into The Sow's Ear which had been recommended to us and we were pleasantly surprised. Inside there was a buzz and lots of people and even a few waiting for tables. The food was good and the owner was very nice. I would definitely recommend it as a good... more

We were in Cambria to celebrate our anniversary. Prior to our trip, I read all the reviews on trip advisor. The morning of our anniversary, we walked in town and looked at the menus of the 3 nearby restaurants which are rated higher then the Sow's Ear. Since my husband LOVES macaroni and cheese we were intrigued that they had... more

After the recommendations of my parents my husband and I visited the Sow's Ear for dinner on our recent weekend getaway. The food was not good...he had the tuna steak special which he took two bites of...it was tough, stringy and tasteless...a very bad cut. I had the chicken spinach salad which was probably the worst one I've ever had.... more

Now, I don't know the first thing about Cambria, California. I live in Pennsylvania, I was on my way to Napa with friends and, quite frankly, didn't expect to find a restaurant with such a huge selection of food. No, let me correct that - GOOD food, really good food. For me, the town was just a stop-over, but it... more

Recommended by the innkeeper, and didn't disappoint. Two of us had steaks and they were as good as anywhere we've been. Excellent service s well. I would've enjoyed a full bar - beer and wine only. more

We had a hard time choosing where to eat dinner in Cambria for our one night stop as we traveled down the coast. The reviews were quite mixed for the various restaurants. We finally settled on The Sow's Ear. Although I wouldn't describe it as a spectacular dinner, it certainly was very good. The atmosphere is casual. The staff is... more
