Had lunch here last week with a friend. I had a hankering for Thai - so we plucked Sawadee off the internet as a convenient place for both of us. Place was smaller than it looks on their site - but it was charming and gave off a good Thai atmosphere. Ann, the owner was very helpful with making selections... More

Visited on a quiet Thursday evening with my wife and had a great evening. The lady owner was great fun and her husband cooked superb mel with great flavours and generous portions. This wasn't western food dressed up as Thai it was authentic , hot, sour, sweet and real!

Tofu and vegetable curry is very good. Around $11. They have lunch specials weekdays. Lots of rice, noodle, and fish dishes. Informal. I want to try it again.

Ann made our birthday celebration so enjoyable. Everything we had tasted fresh and was well prepared. We thought we ordered too much food and would have lots of leftovers, but we just kept eating it all! Highlights were specially requested glass noodles with chicken and veggies, Panang Curry, Chilies and Basil Chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice and the Fried Banana and... More

We pulled off highway 101 looking for a place to eat having just flown into LAX. We were two couples from Vancouver, Canada and consider ourselves foodies. The Thai food here is authentic, and among the best we've ever eaten. The squid salad is to die for! While the place looks like a dive, the place is clean, and service... More

Have lived here for 17 years, and I note that someone wrote the restaurant seems 'run down', etc. Because those comments suggest lack of quality, cleanliness, et al, I emphatically, respectfully, disagree. We are locals (17 years) so it's easier for us to order take out. Besides the ease, Ann's food travels well and keeps well. We typically, the two... More

The place is not really awesome-it looks old and needs major renovation but the food is awesome! What makes it worthwhile is when the owner stops by your table and she makes you feel special. I've ordered trays of food and their specialty is pad thai.

I pulled of Hwy 101 for gas and stopped in for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. The spicy noodles had many vegetables and were very flavorful. Many locals were there, so that was a good sign. Would return when passing thru again.

Ann , the owner, and her staff are Native Thai. She is also a top nutrition-savvy chef whose creations are delicious, healthy and very reasonable. The portions are generous, and the takeout, if one chooses, as we often do, travels very well. Needless to say, no MSG, and they'll spice it as you direct.
