Fresh and Tasty, but Not Fancy

This is the Camarillo, California version of this national chain of cafeteria / buffet style salad, pasta and soup bar restaurants. It is set in a shopping center off of Las Posas Road, just off the US 101 freeway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. I have been coming here for years driving... read more

Went there on a Friday night. The place was busy and the food was to expectation. Staff did their best to keep up with needs. Look for a coupon to save. We managed to save around $15 for our family of four.

I've visited this location before and always had an okay to satisfactory experience. I mean you come to a buffet like this expecting it to be kid-friendly and customers a little less courteous simply because it is a buffet and in my experience people tend to act differently at a buffet. However, I decided to take my wife there last... More

I have friends who rave rave rave about this place, which is why I've been here, but I don't get it. The decor is blah, the restaurant itself noisy, and the food is bland. I understand why the chain is forever offering promotional coupons.

Soup Plantation is a restaurant that my husband has been telling stories about when he visited Los Angeles some years back. Finally, last February a cousin of mine treated us visitors from the east coast and the Philippines at Soup Plantation for lunch. The façade is quite simple but when you enter the restaurant, the first thing that meets your... More

I'm not a fan of their food or the way they've got the food bars set up, but they have good fixings for salads, and every time I've been forced to go here, that's where I wind up. Their desserts are okay as well. My chief complaint would be they buy that cheap and watery cottage cheese, which is disgusting.... More

Stumped for a healthy meal and hungry? Souplantation is a good option, no limit on the sides which include pasta, focaccia bread, soups, chili (vegetarian) and even dessert, after your pile it as high as you can salad. This isn't a fancy atmosphere place as you know, so enjoy a casual meal here.

All you can eat. Plenty of contradiction here between the healthy and the fat food. Probably would look for better.

Soup Plantation is centrally located in Camarillo. Healthy, hearty salads and soups and more. Cheerful staff. Excellent for family meal or casual business lunch with colleagues, with something delicious for every taste. Very popular place with families. Be prepared for a bustling place.

I usually think about this place when I'm trying to have a good "diet" day. But it never works out that way. In addition to a wonderful healthy salad bar, they offer fresh baked muffins, cornbread, chili, several kinds of soups, a pasta bar, pizza, as well as peach cobbler, apple pie, brownies, sundaes and other high carb items that...
