Just got back from The French bulldog, what a gem. We came here in search of location for my wedding dinner party, we were looking for delicious food, a good bar and an intimate yet relaxed atmosphere. We had a Wonderful experience. We arrived during happy hour which had great variety, martinis ($8), plenty of craft and European beer on... More

We enjoyed the special wine and dinner pairing at the French Bulldog for Valentine's Day. What a delightful discovery of good food and an attentive waiting staff. It was nice to not be rushed so we could enjoy our dinner and conversation. On a return trip back to the restaurant, we had the same waiter and the service and food... More

We were looking for a place to have a relaxing Sunday brunch with a Bloody Mary or mimosa. Not as easy as it sounds. Sunday buffet brunches are becoming rare and more pricey. Most breakfast places are manic, noisy, crowded and rushed. We settled on The French Bulldog. Liked the JJ Brewskys that was there before until it started its... More

Stopped at the French Bulldog for a week day lunch. Cristy was a great server. The kids meals were the best value, and the adults made sure none of the generous serving went to waste. The veggie panini at$11 is an expensive lunch sandwich, but one of the best I have had.

Great ambience, wonderful dog decorations, unusual and tasty cocktails, good food. Closing hours can vary so make sure they are still open if you tend to eat late like we do.

We wanted to eat here over Memorial Day weekend, but they were booked so I was looking forward to eating at this popular restaurant. Service was slow, but okay, we were in no hurry. I was happy to see escargot on the menu, but it was over-cooked and bland. I had the lobster risotto as a previous reviewer and was... More

The décor is beautiful - that's it for the good part. The food was bland at best. I had the Lobster Risotto dish, which the server described as having a large piece of halibut over it, but the halibut was about four bites "large". This dish had no flavor to it at all. My husband ordered a pizza, it too... More

Visiting in-laws in Camarillo last weekend, they suggested dinner at the French Bulldog. They especially talked up the lamb shank and the paella, so guess which dishes were dropped off the new menu? So it goes. Nonetheless, the lamb shank was replaced with a similar beef short rib and the paella was replaced with a similar Seafood Basquaise. I had... More

My first meal at the French Bulldog was a mostly-positive experience; a mixed bag of good cocktails, excellent appetizer, excellent main course, muddled with obnoxiously loud music and pokey service. I had the grilled striped bass. A risky maneuver in a restaurant you've never tried before but I don't get enough fish at home so I try it whenever I... More
