Great Night Out

Read the reviews on TA to find this restaurant - and it did not let us down. Two couples dining - great wines - inventive apps - and a tasty entree. I would recommend the garlic zeppole and the funghi pizza.

We went here almost every day for happy hour. They have great drink specials and bar snacks, $5. It's very small but luckily we were always able to get a place at the bar. I'm not sure we would have had much service though if we had been at one of the tables.

Nice cozy restaurant. Food was reasonably good; however, they could not make martinis even though the restaurant has a full bar. When it was time to order dessert, we found out that they had run out of few of them.

This was rated highly and I was disappointed for Italian food. The fetticine carbonara was just ok and not very tasty. I asked my husband if he liked his dinner and he said it was not good. The restaurant was small and not particularly attractive inside. It was pricey for Italian food

I'm concerned to hear you were disappointed. While we believe our ingredients match our prices, it's certainly disappointing to hear you did not find your fettuccine carbonara tasty. If you ever give us another shot, I'd love to talk to you about your tastes to find the right dish for you. Thank you, Mark Young, Barolo More

My husband and I dined here on our last night in Calistoga. It was pretty busy, but the host squeezed us in right away without a reservation. Score! My husband ordered a beer and I ordered a cocktail. We enjoyed both. We shared a pizza and a pasta that had a tasty lamb bolognese sauce. Both dishes were wonderful! We... More

Another somewhat under-whelming experience in Calistoga. Calamari was too heavy on batter and too much there; more taste, less quantity. Lasagne was very tasty but needed some garnish or something on the side to complement the main portion. Setting was very attractive; large open window onto the sidewalk. My boyfriend was pretty happy with his selection. It's hard to point... More

Very convenient location and reasonable happy hour. Try the truffle mac-n-cheese! Staff seemed to be a bit annoyed by the customers, but I'd go back.

Barolo had friendly service, however the waitress forgot the extra item (pepperoni) from my husbands pizza. But the "pizza" was the weirdest pizza I've ever had, as it did not have tomato on the base. I thought pizza was meant to have tomato on the base, well they do in Italy! Ours was called a Fungi but was like garlic... More

For 2 hours every weekday evening, you can sample yummy appys, drink great Napa wines and not break the budget. In Napa this is hard to do. We love this place, sitting in the window sipping a good Cab and watching the parade of interesting people.

What I look for in a good restaurant is the experience. Barolo provided everything that leads to a great experience, attentive service, comfortable laid back atmosphere, great bar, and of course quality food. I don't head to this area often but I can guarantee I will be back because I felt like I was welcomed with open arms!
