We went a little early to take advantage of their happy hour. The bartender made great suggestions on wines to pair with our appetizer. I highly recommend the appetizer called "Burrata e Pizzetta" and add the prosciutto to it - absolutely delicious! I had the Cavatelli pasta which was also fantastic - really nice to have the sweetness from the... More

Stopped here for appetizers and wine. Good selection of wine and we enjoyed our appetizers. Funky, fun decor and charm plus a great staff.

We have been coming to Calistoga for 30 years. We have stayed at the Mountview many times and have always enjoyed eating there. The space that Barolo is in now used to be this great art deco bar. Sorry to see that go but wow! - Barolo hit it out of the park on the food alone. If you try... More

We walked in without a reservation and were lucky to get a great table by the window. (I suggest you reserve and ask for it.) When the evening cooled, they opened the window. Service was very friendly, but not intrusive. There are lots of half-bottles offered on the menu. The four of us were pleased to try 3 half bottles... More

My wife and I stopped in here for a quick bite and glass of wine. We were very pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service. Even though it was getting close to dinner time they managed to find us a nice seat outside. We ordered the flatbread with prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella. We were blown away after one... More

Dined at Barolo on July 15, 2014. In all fairness, the food was not bad...not great but not bad. The service was very slow. My daughter wanted an Italian Margarita. The waiter said that was not available but asked how it was made. My daughter told him and then ordered a regular Margarita with a shot of Amaretto on the... More

We (a large group) met every morning at Barolo and enjoyed the homey atmosphere and good food. This is a throwback from the 1950s. Friendly owner-staff and good wholesome food.

We got in from the east coast and wanted a few drinks and food. There were 10 of us, we were having drinks as we were gathering at the bar, it was a busy night for them. Michael is a bartender that was making our drinks and trying to get a table for us. We got a table for the... More

Unpretentious service and good food. Our pastas and fish were delicious, cleanly made with excellent ingredients. The red neon lights are rather distracting, but other than that, no complaints!
