Delicious Authentic Afghan Food in a Pleasant Setting

Really great, authentic Afghan food, properly prepared and attractively served. Service is good -- attentive without being overbearing. This restaurant is usually quite full, so the locals must like this place. Close by street parking is generally available.

Kabul is in a prime location but we found the food to be uninspired - basic, without sufficient seasoning or culinary style to bring us back. Two of us visited on a Friday evening. The wait was short so we dropped off the list of a nearby restaurant to give Kabul a try. We were addressed quickly and efficiently at... More

I love this place and having been there 3 times in the last year, the quality of food and service is outstanding - the welcome was wonderful despite walking in to s packed restaurant without booking with 3 colleagues . A must for any visitor to this area and the whole of San Francisco area. I am much travelled and... More

I love eating different ethnic foods and had never been to an Afghanistan restaurant. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the food was amazing. We got a lentil soup which had a great taste and then split a pumpkin dish and another with lamb and spinach. They were both seasoned perfectly. Easily our best meal while in San Francisco

Lively, interesting and tasty cuisine. Similar to Indian and Lebanese, but more shish kabobs, veal, lamb and other dishes and spices.

When my girlfriend invited me to go here for dinner I wasn't sure what to expect since I never had Afghan food. I ordered the chicken kebab served with brown rice and nan bread-the bread was fluffy and lighter than Indian nan bread: the rice pilaf was very good too--better than any brown rice pilaf that I had before--the chicken... I eat a mainly plant based diet and this was a fantastic choice. The vegetarian sampler was a perfect dish for me. This was a random choice for lunch with some friends and everyone was more than happy with the food, atmosphere and decor. Give it a try!

Right from the start I was very attracted to this cuisine. Entering the place it was very light and chirpy. The greetings were wonderful and the workers are very careful and gentle. Sitting down I looked around. Beautiful decorations that make you really feel this culture and land. I am a vegetarian and they had a few wonderful vegetarian dishes.... More

If you like or always wants to try Afghani food, then add this to your bucket list. Lamb kabobs were perfectly cooked consisting of six large pieces of succulent medium rare lamb served with wonderfully seasoned long grain rice. Atmosphere is nice and service is akin to five star dining. Located in a great little suburban downtown town, so plan... More

Afghan food is very much like Persian food. Rice and Kebabs. For me my Persian food experiences were better. We came here, R & I, a while ago when the street was still being renovated. The place was quite empty back then, but now when I pass by at lunch hours is usually more full. The food was good. Good... More
