Just passing through Buellton at dinner time and ended up here. We had a five minute wait and read the menu. At first glance, it appeared to be quite pricey. But after studying the menu, we discovered that most of the high priced entrees had over a pound of meat! Plus all of the many sides that automatically come with... More

Busiest place in Buellton on a Friday night, and the sun was still up! The wait was approx 30 minutes so we opted to check out the bar for a table and some grub. There was a huge booth in the back corner and no one was in it so we hustled our way through the crowd of folks in... More

I used to eat at this restaurant frequently in the 90's and had fond memories. However, it has not changed and I have grown. There is NO option to eat light. All meals come with soup (that tasted like Dinty Moore beef), potatoes soaked in onion and grease and a liqueur or root beer float. My ribs were fatty and... More

Good soup for starters. All the entrees are heavy on the meat. Excellent dessert. Would have liked to see more salads or vegetables offered. Heavy entrees.

We always have dinner at A.J. Spur's when we go to Solvang. We have been going there for many years. Their food is delicious (especially the vegetable beef soup). Everything they have is delicious & they have excellent service. Very nice & interesting decor. We really love it!!

Me and 3 other people went into A.J. Spurs for a quick dinner, before going to a concert. I mentioned that we were on a schedule and needed to expedite dinner. Promptly a nice waitress was at our table and she did great in getting us out of there to get to the concert on time. AND, my steak was... More

This is a great restaurant and a good value. The dinner included soup, salad, entree, rice, potatoes and either an after-dinner drink or root beer float. You will not leave hungry. The service was a little slow due to the crowd on a Saturday night. However, the server was very friendly and working as hard as she could. The soup... More

We were looking for a good restaurant for dinner. We arrived right after they opened for the evening. We were greeted with a friendly smile and seated immediately. Our waitress was at our table very quickly to get our drink order going. They brought out a pot of Beef Stew with a side order of Black Beans and Salsa, both... More

We were able to get a same-day reservation for a group of ten during a busy holiday week, which was great. This restaurant is unusual -- a giant stuffed bear and other creatures are the decor. Every meal comes with soup, beans and potatoes that are served family-style, along with individual salads and entrees. The portions are enormous - kind... More

Its similar to a younger sibling (Buellton) being compared to the better-known, older sister (Solvang) for dining when you are in the central coast of California, but that is where you find the A.J. Spurs Restaurant on Highway 246. As you enter the front door you are met with a full-size stuffed buffalo and immediately are transported to another era... More
