This place is a legendary restaurant. Even if you don't like their pea soup, the menu is very versatile and just plain great.

Stopped in for a late dinner after a long day on the road. I had the meatloaf melt and it was pretty good. The pea soup was very good, although I prefer to have chunks of ham in it. I highly recommend this place if you're visiting Buellton.

What can I say about Andersen's?!? We stop here every time we're driving to Southern California. I had never tried their split pea soup in a bread bowl and was so glad I tried it this time!! Very filling and so good!! My husband really liked the chicken fried steak he ordered and the portion was huge. Our server was... More

Stopped in the area for a quick bite. I could be wrong, but I vaguely remembered a TV segment about this place a few years back, so we opted for Andersen’s in lieu of fast food. Received an extremely warm welcome from the manager and our enthusiastic waitress. Although I hated pea soup as a child, my tastes have changed... More

Split pea soup was brown and unappetizing. We ordered Soup, a cheese steak sandwich and the kids got chicken tenders and fries. Again, the soup was mediocre at best, the sandwich was acceptable and the chicken for the kids was so overdone it was tough. The toddler spit it out after realizing that she was unable to effectively chew it.... More

With all the billboards all over the state, you'd think this would be better than it is - BUT IT'S NOT.

From the hair in our salad, to the dirty table, to an incorrect order, to the inappropriate server this was simply an awful dining experience. It was the only sit-down option in the immediate vicinity and I honestly would have rather eaten out of the vending machine than have dined here. The experience was just gross.

If you like pea soup, this is a must stop. The soup is unchanged for decades and still pleases. Service is always good and fast. Sure, it's a tourist trap but in the Buellton area, it's a welcome stop. There is a lot of stuff to look at and trinkets galore. Huge restaurant and if there's a line have no... More

We had dinner at the Famous Andersen's Pea Soup in Buellton while staying in the area. The pea soup is very good and as much as you can eat. We had the soup & salad special and left feeling very well fed. Service was good. We had a look around he shop afterwards, lots of interesting things.

This restaurant is definitely a tourist attraction. I knew that going in. As such, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Tourist traps generally don't have to perform because they have years and years of being an icon. Happily, our breakfast was decent enough that we ate here two days in a row. I skipped the enormous... More
