Predictably Good

We stopped for a quick lunch and were delighted that we did. The pea soup and 1/2 sandwich option fit our needs perfectly. The pea soup was excellent and so good on a cool, breezy day. Service was prompt, professional and friendly. Thanks to all!

Coming from Australia, we wanted to try the pea soup, and it didn't disappoint. The gift shop is kinda cool, and the restaurant is out the back. I can honestly say that the pea soup is the best I've ever had. We had the all-you-can-eat soup deal, which was great value, but we only managed 2 bowls. The apple pie... More

This is a classic tourist restaurant - lots of billboards, and a gift shop you have to walk through to get to the restaurant itself. We stopped here for an early lunch and fortunately ordered the soup and salad combo instead of the all you can eat pea soup. The salad was good, but the soup was a strange color... More

The Pea soup isn't split pea...it's more like watered down baby food, and it's tasteless. At $6.50 for a bowl it's a rip off. The hot turkey sandwich made with the driest turkey I have ever eaten and the mashed potatoes had a dried crust on the outside like they were yesterdays. We are just heading home from a trip... I love their hearthy pea soup after doing wine tasting in the Lompoc area. We come here before we drive back to LA

Stopped here for a trip down memory lane. The food was great, and the soup was just as wonderful as I remembered it. The last time I was here, I was probably 10 years old, but so glad I stopped.

There are two (to my knowledge) of these restaurants: this one in Solvang and the one in Santa Nella. This was my first stop in Solvang, and could not tell any difference from the other, more familiar one. Same ambiance, same seating arrangement, same building layout. The split pea soup is excellent; but the rest of the menu is not.... More

Don't let the star rating fool you, this is a must stop restaurant because it is a tradition for those of us traveling from Los Angeles to San Francisco (or vice-versa). The big chef, the little chef and the split pea are the stuff of childhood memories. Founded in 1924, Andersen's never changes. In the parking lot, put your face... More

My family and I have eaten here numerous times of the years when driving through the Santa Barbara area, and really enjoy our dining experience. The restaurant is located just off the 101 freeway in Buelton, CA. The restaurant has a nice decor and the staff are all very friendly and courteous. The food is great, especially the split pea... Our family came here for dessert and we were very pleased. We ordered the bread pudding, the peach pie a la mode and the Brownie bomb. Everything tasted so good. The servings were huge almost too big for us! The bread pudding and pie were meant for two to share and the brownie could have easily satisfied the four of... More
