old world grill

This restaurant has oak grilled everything. I have only had the quail the few times I have gone but it is out standing and I went back for more. Only 30 minute drive from the Bacara so it was good to eat there. Waitress was excellent but you must make a reservation.

A trip to Santa Barbara is not complete without our pilgrimage here - It feels like 1965 and shouldn't be missed!

The Hitching Post II has outstanding food. Cooked over red oak, which is Central Coast BBQ at its best, not slathered with BBQ sauce to hide so-so food. The quality is great, but the prices have become a bit outrageous. Wine in a restaurant is never a bargain, but we had 2 bottles of their house brand wine and $54... More

Sign out front states, "World's Best BBQ Steaks". Well, somebody must think so (maybe the owner) but, they aren't even close. Food isn't bad, just not memorable at all. Most steaks in our group of 7 were undercooked, very limited side choices with average to below average service. Seemingly expensive Mastro's/Beverly Hills prices don't line up with the lack of... it has been a few years since my last visit to this restaurant and I am happy to say it is every bit as good as I remembered . we had my father in laws 91st birthday dinner and the entire family enjoyed the meal and service. I shared a massive bone in rib eye with my wife and the... More

We had not been to the Hitching Post 11 in a few years, but decided to give it a try again. This was the big weekend that most of the wineries in the Santa Ynez valley get together for their semi-annual wine festival and the area was crawling with wine lovers! I ordered the Rib-eye and my lady had the... More

My second visit, five years after my first, was just as good and memorable. The food was great. The prime rib was excellent, flavorful, and cooked to order. My plate was completely clean. The salad and soup were also tasty. I'll be back and strongly recommend a visit when in the area.

We had heard that this is the place for excellent steaks. And it is. The 'ambiance' does not match the price point...but the food is outstanding. We had delicious steaks. Drinks were good. And fire roasted artichoke appetizer (we had to order something while waiting for the restaurant to open) was delicious. Highly recommend the artichoke with house dip. Yummy... More

Seems like this place capitalizes Big time on their Sideways fame - always busy but our group of 12 went there & we were all unimpressed. $46 for the Ribeye special & then had to divide our own tab because they don't do separate checks for large groups! Don't bother
