Delicious steaks. Reasonable prices. All sorts of other great items, most coming off the Santa Maria style BBQ grill. And they make their own, world class quality wine.

Came here with 2 friends and had a great meal. We started with appetizers and ended with dessert. It was crowded when we were there and I'm guessing this is normal for a Friday evening. We were a demanding trio but the servers up to the task. All of us enjoyed the experience and will likely come back if we're... More

OK, so I actually went here because of Sideways, but I really did hear that it was amazing food. I was disappointed to discover they are only open for dinner, not lunch, but it turns out the portions aren't humongous, just the right size, and of course you can order all different cuts and sizes of steak. Everything is amazing,... More

Nice lively bar, quiet crowded in the evening. Enjoyed both wine and dinner. You can't miss that the restaurant appeared in the movie Sideways but not in a disturbing kinda way.

OK so we came here on our trip across Calfornia because of Sideways. And what a disappointment it was too. I can't imagine Miles putting up with this standard of food to accompany his beloved pinto noida. Ok, maybe I'm being a tad unfair? It was quaint and unusual, at least to us Brits who haven't anything like this since... More

Steak and wine here was exceptional. Would thoroughly recommend a visit to here if you travel through Buellton.

My husband and I had dinner here on a busy Friday night. We had a reservation and we were seated on time. We came here because it was featured in the movie Sideways but this place can hold its own. The food, service and Hitching Post wines were excellent. The atmosphere is rustic but the mood is energetic. Portions are... More

We had dinner at the Hitching Post this summer while visiting Central California. I had dinner there some years back and it has changed quite a bit from the first time I was there, but is still excellent. The restaurant was packed. We had made reservations and we were seated right away. It' really friendly down home service and you... More

This is a very upscale eating establishment. The food is wonderful and served not too large. What you get here is quality food, not quantity. Be prepared for a full course meal. And be prepared to pay for it. A very pleasant atmosphere.

Walking into Hitching Post II is like walking into a well preserved and cared for 1950's restaurant. There is a very comfortable vibe throughout the dining room. There are few surprises on the menu (when is the last time that your meal started with a relish tray and basket of club crackers?) but everything on the menu is well-prepared and... More
