Krazy Coyote: A Favorite of Ours

Looking for a quiet place with low lighting? A place where you can hear one another while eating delicious selections? The environment is very peaceful and a step back in time at this restored '50's hangout for Hollywood stars. There is an art display on the way in. The old photos from the... read more

I always enjoy going to the Coyote Steakhouse because the food is very good, the atmosphere is friendly, and the bar is great...... the best Manhattans and Margaritas made by their excellent bartender, Judy! I always feel welcomed by the wonderful waitstaff and I like the coziness of the restaurant and bar. Anyone visiting Borrego should make sure they eat... More

We liked the food, and I enjoyed the Christmas turkey dinner! Judy is a great bartender and if you like mixed drinks, from a Margarita to a Negroni, she is the ONE! Fun place to be. If you get lucky, you may see Joey play the piano...he's brilliant!

Thanks for joining us for Christmas. We are very proud of all our staff. And, as you point out, Judy and Joe are very special people with very special talents. We are humbled to have such talent all around us. Look forward to your next visit. More

Try to come when it is still light out (not so easy in winter) so you can look at the outside grounds and pool and imagine what this place was like 50 or 60 years ago. The lobby and its portraits and displays is also fun to explore. The food is very good and very reasonable, especially the early bird... More

There was really no downside to this restaurant. The prices may look a little high but the food is worth it and the portions are large. I loved the gourmet cesar salad and the fresh made cream of mushroom soup.

Thanks for the review. Our bartender Judy does make a mean Martini, she also uses fresh juices grown here in Borrego Valley in all drinks that require them. Hope you get a chance to step back in time soon again. Look forward to your next visit. More

This is an absolutely wonderful and historic establishment in Borrego Springs, CA. It is set apart from the rest of the mainstream town, tucked backed into Indianhead Mtn. It is casual dining with nuances of fine dining. We dined here on Christmas Day. The choices were salmon, prime rib and Turkey. We all choose the Turkey, and it was beautifully... More

We dined here on New Year's Eve and it was great. The menu was traditional and very good. The vibe was great, and the whole place was just old school classy. Like a trip back to the 50s!

Thank you Claudia, you really hit the nail on the head. We strive to reflect the simpler days of yesteryear, The Palms at Indian Head Hotel was first built in 1947, burned to the ground in 1958 and was rebuilt that same year. We try to continue to offer the flavor and feel of that era. Thanks for enjoying! Hope... More

Borrego Springs is not LA and Coyote Steak House doesn't excel by city standards, but it is a pleasantly restored room in a mid-century motel with a standard menu and has a nice vibe. For Borrego Springs it's a good choice. Our group of five ate there for Christmas dinner and the food (prime rib, turkey, salmon) was generally mainstream... More

Hollywood stars used to fly (or drive) over the hills to Borrego Springs, and the Palms at Indianhead is where they stayed and dined. Stroll the grounds with the huge pool, enjoy the palm trees and mountains, and check out the photos of the celebrities from back in the 50s and 60s before you sit down to a lovely meal.... More
