We stopped in for lunch on our journey along the Northern California coast. The Tides has a very nice waterfront location in Bodega Bay. Supposedly this is the one remaining location from Hitchcock's movie "The Birds". I had the fish and chips which was very satisfying. The views were great and the service was excellent. There is an accompanying bar... More

I had the Grilled Halibut with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. Yes it was a little pricey ( $28.00) but it was very good. Since this is a tourist location, we kind of expected the prices to be high. My Husband had the Calamari Steak and he loved it. We will definitely go back to this place in the future.

Terrific food. Great seafood and wine shop. Worthwhile shop. First class operation, yet down to earth.

The harbor views are magnificent, and we had high hopes when our party of 6 were seated by the window. The cold seafood appetizers were ok (great oysters and crab), but the main courses were a huge disappointment. The fried chicken was charred, the mussels were tiny, and many looked like they had exploded during cooking.

I ordered the crab and shrimp cocktail. I should have sent it back immediately. The shrimp was a spoonful of the tiny kind you get from a can. My meal was pacific wild red snapper with pasta and fresh vegetables. Sound great right? Well it came out completely unseasoned and so overdone the edges were hard. I chose the grilled... More

The host (manager?) at the entrance was so rude we almost walked away. Water upon request only. Customers are encouraged to purchase expensive bottled water or soft drinks. Pastries in display case at entrance with sign stating there is a $1.00 surcharge if pastries are eaten at the dinner table! I ordered a hamburger and fries. Very basic and bland... More

we loved that the hotel gave us a voucher for a full menu breakfast and the staff never treated us any differently than other guests. The food was good, service was good and the view was wonderful

If you like fresh fish (just fish without all the sauce) in a bay side setting, this is the place. The food was fresh and delicious and the service friendly and prompt. Value is good.

We won't be returning to this restaurant or send others. When you go to a restaurant with white tablecloths and napkins you expect it to be an upscale experience. Not so here. They bring you water in a plastic soda cup with the Seven-Up logo on them ... can you say "fast food restaurant". The service was slow and we... More
