Good Turkey Sandwich

The Turkey Sandwich was very tasteful - fresh ingredients and the bread was very good. The apple strudel is also good. The prices are a little high and the sign "No Pictures or Video allowed" is not that cool.

We stop here -- everytime! They have a huge selection of breads and other baked goods. We're particularly fond of the energy bars and the seeded lavash crackers although the chili cheese bread is highly addictive and the monkey bread perfect for those with a sweet tooth. They also have a good selection of jams and jellies, mustards and other... More

Much of the bread is wonderful (try particularly the Volkoren Raisin, Nuts & Seeds) and they open so early that you can pick up some loaves to take home before the long drive over the mountains.

I have been going to the Eastern Sierra for years but my friend talked me to going here. Like most people I have my spots and do not get too excited about a bakery. He told me though they actually roast whole turkeys each day for the sandwiches. When you walk up they carve the meat of the bird when... More

Schat's Bakery is famous in the area. Located on 395 in Bishop this place is so well attended that it has it's own traffic light to help with the traffic. What that means is that there is not a lot of competion, which is pretty understandable because you are in a remote area, away from large cities. So the place... More

The food was good but way to expensive. We bought a sandwich, salad, and bearclaw and dropped over $20.

Very busy place but well worth the wait. Their raisin bread is so good my truck pulls into the parking lot on its own.

This is a must stop if your going through bishop. The best cheese bread and sprinkle cookies ever. If you have time stop and have a sandwich there great to. We camp in our rv and I always wait to buy my bread and goodies when I get there.

Worth a stop for sure! We did not eat there but bought several loaves of bread for the freezer. People were very friendly and courteous. Even though they were busy they were very efficient.
