When in Bishop this is a place to visit

We enjoy the great quality of their breads and 'goodies'....The staff sometimes are a little too task orientated over customer service orientated.

There is always a crowd at Schat's Bakery. Their bread is amazing. Always has large racks of fresh bread. Famous for their Sheepherder bread. They also has fantastic Sourdough, pumpernickel, Squah and whole grain breads. Specialty breads include Chili, Cinnamon Raisin and many more. Most are award winning. They make sandwiches and have sweet rolls and donuts. Always a great... More

I would recommend this little lovely shop without any hesitation. Everything is simply delicious and fresh. All sorts of breads, cheeses, salami, jellie, jams, honey, gelato, pastries, etc etc etc... and free samples too! We stopped here on our way back from Reno. We ordered lunch & got to sample fresh baked pizza while waiting for our tuna & egg... More

Great bakery and sandwich shop. Get there early in the morning and everything is hot and plentiful. The breads, muffins, cakes, pies are all wonderful. The sandwich bar at lunch provides large fresh food that is enough for two to share. Been coming here for 30 years. Could not recommend it more highly. Buy food on the way up to... More

Our friends told us about this place so we stopped on our way out of town in the morning. We were glad it was mid morning in March because we heard it gets very busy on the weekends. So many choices of breads, pastry, cookies, jams, you name it they have it. We enjoyed the service too. We were glad... More

A dutch special experience at the 395. Worth a stop to supply cakes, sandwiches, bread, etc. The shop is really fully stocked with all your favorite cakes and some more.

This bakery had numerous breads in so many varieties. The pastries were attractive and beautifully displayed and quality eating. Indoor and outdoor eating. Totally enjoyed our time here!

Anytime we are on our way to Mammoth, we stop into the the Bakkery. There is so much yummy goodness here. Cookies, coffees, breads, pastries, sandwiches and jellies to name a few. This place is jam packed, literally. There is so much food on racks, add a couple dozen customers and the employees and there is hardly enough room to... More

The last trip we came up to Mammoth we had friends rave about this place. We didn't hit this one in Bishop and instead went to the one right in Mammoth Lakes and wasn't too impressed with that one. But this one is head and shoulders better. I assumed they were the same exact stuff but the food was much... More

On the way to Mammoth, We went to Schat's Bakery in Bishop. This is an amazing bakery with lots of fresh baked bread. I had the most delicious pastrami sandwich & my friends were raving about their turkey, tuna sandwiches. We bought some bread, jams, chocolate to take with us to Mammoth. The jalapeño cheese bread is hot!
