great breads

Delicious bakery. Many different varieties of bread. They all sounded great. We got the bacon cheese bread and it did not disappoint. Prices are high, but the food is great. There is a wide variety of items for sale.

My family was on their way to Yosemite, when we stumbled upon this amazingly by bakery. They had so much to choose from, and we definitely spent more money than expected. Loved the free samples! Definitely worth a stop.

Stopped by and bought a olive bread, stopped by the grocery store further down the road and got some jam and butter and had us a death valley bread feast for lunch! Easily the best bread I have eaten in the US.

found this place by accident.... what a wonderful accident!! We hit the bakery first ... so hard to make a decision ... then onto the sandwich/soup side. Everything is wonderful and we can't wait to return!!

I have stopped at Schat's for years. Its worth the stop. I don't find the pastries special but the atmosphere is unique. the breads are good. Its a little expensive for what you get but I still stop there. The turkey sandwich is really good especially after a day of skiing at Mammoth.

Sandwiches were very good and made with fresh ingredients. Turkey was carved right off the bird. But the real experience is the whole store, lots of different baked goods, and really who does not love bacon cheese bread. Highly recommended

There is something for everyone here. The wonderful aroma of fresh baked bread is intoxicating. Cookies, donuts, cinnamon pull apart, sheepherder bread, jalapeño cheese bread, fresh squeezed orange juice, deli sandwiches, soup, coffee, I could go on and on. Suffice to say, Schat's has been in Bishop for as long as I can remember, been going there for 40+ years,... More

I'm not sure how we stumbled across this bakery, but I have been craving it ever since! Everything I could imagine and more deliciousness was inside. The lines were long, but I definitely understood why!! Ah-Mazing. I have since looked up their website online, in hopes to order from them when the craving is too much! :-) We will be... More
