Great food!

Loved the food. Being from Los Angeles, we have allot of really good Mexican Restaurants. Our expectations here were not real high. We were proved wrong. The food was Delicious! The guacamole was just right, and my Chile Verde, Taco, Enchalada, Rice, & Bean plate was served quickly, and hot... read more

This restaurant used to be the Bishop Grill and retains the same ambiance. It is like visiting a movie set set in the 50s, with friendly staff and delicious, very authentic Mexican food. They don't oversalt the food and the ingredients taste fresh. My relatives from TN and my "comadre" from NM were impressed with the home-style Mexican fare :)... More

This little Gem is just what we needed after a long day of travel! Great cozy atmosphere and the staff are really nice! It's Xmas day and there isn't many options open in town and this place is genius being open, there is standing room only and the food is great! Worth a visit for sure!

We've been here a couple of times on our Sierra hiking trips and have always had a good experience. Portions are generous, the homemade salsa chips are addictive and on my quest to find the worlds best fish taco, this place is tied for 1st with a place in Eden Utah I've reviewed earlier. Well worth the stop if your... More

I have tried both Mexican restaurants on the block a couple of times. El Ranchito beats it's neighbor hands down. The atmosphere is diner style and the food was great both times for me. The salsa is hand chopped and a little juicy and chunky and the dinners are generous portions and extremely good. If you haven't, you should try... More

My husband and I just moved here from Michigan. We were low on funds and we both LOVE Mexican food. We couldn't decide if we wanted to go to Amigos or this place. Im glad that we chose el ranchito. I ordered the California burrito and my husband got tamales. My picky eater,(she's 2) will rarely eat from a restaurant,... More

If Amigos (right next door) is full, you've had a long day, can't go elsewhere, don't mind literally hamburger patty enchiladas, can wait for refills or re-order of additional items while the Spanish-speaking-only waitress can put her phone down long enough to help you, you should eat here. Service aside, salsa was a chunky mix of grainy tomatoes, onions and... More

Standard Mexican fare, but plenty of food to fill you. They serve Negra Modelo which is always a mainstay. I enjoy the feeling of dining in in a Mexican cafe with the openness and bustle...

We were in bishop for one day and we stopped for a quick Mexican lunch. The place was like a normal diner, service was friendly and the food was good. Nothing exceptional, would have liked it more spicy, but it was good value for money

This was a good dinner, with good service. Nothing special by Bay Area or LA standards, but a good value meal. No. 2 of our 4 picks for Mexican in Bishop. You could do worse ...
