Chose this place because of the reviews and we could walk from the hotel. The whole place - carpet, tables, and chairs all feel greasy (someone posted pictures that were not taken at the Amigo's I visited). The acapulco tacos were horrendous - the chicken tasted like yoshida's sauce, was rubbery in texture, and the salsa tasted like bbq sauce.... More

Amazing amount of food for the price. Delicious and fresh. Friendly staff. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable. Great place to stop midway on our ten hour drive.

Typical Mexican family restaurant, but playing rock n' roll. Nice. My wife and I split a pork verde burrito, rice and beans, and it was plenty for the two of us. They split the order for us onto two plates ($1 extra). They served warm chips, and very good salsa. It was a good meal.

We stop here on our way to Mammoth or Tahoe for really good Mexican food. The dining rooms are very simple and small and it isn't unusual to have to wait a short while for a table. The menu offers a lot of choice, including daily specials. We think the chile rellenos are as good as any we've ever had... More

Went last year, and this year it was recommended by locals as being the best Mexican in town so we knew we had got it right! Simple interior but always busy...

The place is sparse and notably populated with Mexicans. The menu was simple and rustic. We both had the special enchiladas the secret recipes were very tasty - the meat just melt in your mouth! Cheap on the wallet but not on the tongue - if you are after the real Mexican deal - this is it

Really great food and service and we ate here twice. Its a casual place that fills up quite quickly after 6 pm with both carryout and dine in, couples and families, locals and tourists. Every dish is tweaked creatively. The salsa is outstanding with a wonderful cilantro flavor. The onion/pepper grill is a unique side dish. I asked for the... More

Left half of our meals on our plates, it was tasty, flavoursome and filling. The salsa and chips to start with are lovely, we all filled ourselves up on them I think, the beer was cold and the atmosphere was buzzing - mind you the shop is very basic and bland but the staff are amazing. Loved it.

Not the usual Tex Mex fare, but real home-style mexican, authentic and also surprisingly light. The locale doesn't possess that much ambiance, but the service is friendly and efficient. No bar service (so no margaritas). Average pricing. We enjoyed our meal.

Not a very good restaurant!!! We went because of the Yelp reviews and were extremely disappointed. The waitress was uninformed about basic menu questions, and the food lived up to her lack of knowledge. One cut above inedible.
