We've been coming up here for years and have bemoaned the lack of decent restaurants. Thankfully, that is no longer true. I have a couple of other favorite places in town, but this is now #1. The menu selections are creative and well executed. The wine list is small and affordable with some good finds. We had a $27 Malbec... More

Unique and homemade dishes. We had surf & turf with tiramisu for dessert. Waitresses are awesome here and overall service is great. It's very popular so lots and lots of people waiting and no room to move. Maybe expansion should be in the works?

My wife and I ate here on the 16 of August 2014. We were very disappointed with the Sweet Basil Bistro. We wanted a nice romantic diner before ending our vacation in Big Bear. We got seated, and the place is very small, all the tables are about 2 inches from each other. We thought it would be a quiet... More

My wife and I have eaten here several times over the past few years. It's one of the better restaurants in Big Bear. Sometimes are dishes are amazing, and sometimes they are OK. However, the service is always great, and we are satisfied with what we got for the price. I would have to say our personal favorite is the... More

We're in Big Bear every year for skiing, and camping in the Spring/Summer. Every year we make a point to hit SBB. Definitely make reservations, because this place is always packed. Hmmmm, must be a reason for that eh? The food is always outstanding, and they're not afraid to press the edges a bit on some of the fare they... More

Who would have expected such a wonderful little restaurant tucked in a strip mall? My husband and I did our research and, based on the reviews, we decided to give it a try. The food was delicious. We had the Crusted Salmon and the Flank Steak. Both were wonderful. The disappointment was the seating situation. The tables are so close... More

A local recommended this place and boy was it a waste of money. What kind of Italian restaurant can't even make good pasta? I know my pasta because I've loved it all my life, and have been to numerous Italian restaurants. Sweet Basil Bistro is a joke, an overpriced joke. Our server was nice, and the decor inside is cute... More

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, we thought we'd try to Sweet Basil. We went on a Saturday night and didn't have reservations. Thankfully they squeezed us in. The best meal we had while we were in Big Bear. The wait staff was very attentive. I had the soup special which was sausage, kale & garbanzo bean soup. Delish!!!... More
