My husband and I like to go there about 2 times a year for our anniversary or his birthday. We always have a few drinks at the bar, then proceed to be seated upstairs. Our favorite is the Lobster/Crab dish. It is so big that we can share it. The price range is between $80 to a little over $100... More

Charming place with old world feel. Cozy, with fireplace, near forest, but close in, Ghost sightings add to its intrigue.. Menu is quite varied, we ate fish and prime rib, fish was good, not great, but prime rib was great! Wonderful salad and soup bar compliments dinner. Great bar!

I go to Big Bear quite often and have for many many years captains Anchorage is a great place to eat! The atmosphere is cozy. The food is always delicious. Some of the choices are a little expensive but well worth the price. It's also a place that you can still make a reservation. We always have a very nice time... More

This restaurant has wonderful prime rib, pricey but worth every penny. We visited the restaurant three times for dinner and had the same waitperson, Lynn, each time. She was super. She made us feel welcome, had good recommendations, and was very efficient. One time my husband had King Crab Legs, pricey, but he thought they were great. Each time we... More

Big red leather booths, cozy bar with many people congregating and chatting, salmon was outstanding, crab legs and filet were delectable. I usually dislike salad bars, but this one was great - fresh, crunchy cold lettuce and many offerings. Loved it!

My husband and I recently bought a home in the area and The Captain's Anchorage has quickly become one of our favorite local restaurants. My favorite aspect of the restaurant is the service. Every time, everyone is super friendly and welcoming. We were treated like regulars on our first visit. It's just a nice feeling. Also, the restaurant seems to... More

We had a party of 12 with 5 children and were given the upstairs room all to ourselves to celebrate my husband's birthday. The staff, especially Lynn was extremely accommodating and friendly. She made us feel as if we were in her home. The food was good with good sized portions. Unfortunately, most of our food was not hot as... More

Salad bar comes with meal, but it is really small and you are allowed one trip, so pile it high. I ordered a steak medium, it came out jerky. The server was nice and brought me out a piece of prime rib instead, so I could eat with my wife. They have George the ghost whom roams the place, they... More

Recently a friend and I went up to Big Bear Lake for an overnight stay. After we checked I to our hotel and relaxed a bit we were famished. We like to try new restaurants. So we had narrowed it down to three possibilities. We chose Captains Anchorage as they had dinner specials and we had been there before. When... More
