Third trip to Senoras. Wait time about 30min. on a Saturday. Service always very friendly. Margaritas delicious. Food this time was OK. Average tasting and chips seemed a bit stale. Prices have also jumped up a bit. Over-all would recommend as a nice night out restaurant.

I went to Sonora Catina with my family in January 2015. Our dinning experience was just average, nothing special. We went to Sonora on a Saturday evening around 6PM, and was told it was a 30 minute wait, which was no problem, and we hoped that meant everything here would be fantastic. The service and staff were all great. All... More

I always try the chile relleno on my first visit to a Mexican restaurant. I do not like a lot of coating but most have so much you can't find the chile. Not here. This was one of the best I have had. A light egg white coating, fresh chile with a little bite, good amount of cheese, very tasty... More

I am very predicable when traveling up to Big Bear where my first dinner must be here and include on of the Original Asombroso Margaritas, it's a little steep at $12 but a lightweight like me can easily share it. I choose not to this trip and could not get rid of the "permagrin" for an hour after. I love... More

Went to Big Bear on Labor Day weekend and there were so many people. It was hard to find a place to eat. We roamed the little town but there were huge lines everywhere. As we drove out we found Sonora Cantina. As we waited to be seated we ordered margaritas at the bar. We ordered some we didn't like... More

From the beginning to the end, this was NOT a good experience. We got there and were told the wait was 20 minutes. That's fine. But we could see at least 5 tables outside and numerous tables inside that needed to be cleaned off. Even in the bar area, where you must stand to wait to be seated had two... More

The Sonora Cantina knows how to make a Margarita! My favorite is their Cadillac Margarita, and it is well deserving of its name. This wonderful drink is packed with flavor and tequila. It is available frozen or "on the rocks". I always go old school, Salt and "on the rocks" and it's a perfect 10 every time. My wife enjoyed... More

I went with the Big Juan challenge in mind. I got it, and missed finishing it by 1/4 of a pound. My boy got the nachos with carne asada, and he liked it. My wife got menudo and thought it was ok. I'm not one to judge menudo. My girl got a cheeseburger and enjoyed it. The big Juan burrito... More

I never feel good about writing negative reviews, but there are several really good Mexican restaurants in Big Bear Lake and unfortunately this is not one of them. My husbands exact words with his dinner are "that was the poorest excuse for an enchilada I've ever had." The atmosphere is average, the food is below average, the location is good,... More

This is our go-to place for Mexican food in Big Bear. Everything that we have tried has been delicious, but two of our favorites are the chile verde burrito, and the shredded beef quesadilla. Very good chips and salsa, and the service is always good. Bright, colorful atmosphere, with the booths and walls depicting traditional Mexican culture.
