Went to have an early dinner on 12/21/12. They were out of fish (Seriously), mash potatoes and bacon for (the loaded fries) We were the only people in the dinning area, and it took 23 minutes to get our food. You think a restaurant would be well stocked on a Friday evening. We will go to Bub-Ba-Q's on our next... More

I've been to the Pickled Pelican several times, and last night was the last straw. I'm baffled at how poor the seafood is. This is Florida. We live within 2 hours of some of the best fishing in the world and yet this place makes you think you might be in North Dakota. OK so they have bad seafood, wouldn't... More

NOT a good dining experience! Took 40 mins to get our food and it was COLD. The server took it back and we received a warm meal within 10 mins. The food was NOT good. I never leave any shrimp on my plate but couldn't eat it. The breading/coating was bad and the shrimp raw. The noise level was so... More

AND they charge extra to share a plate!! what is this chinese take out??? WILL never go back YUCK. This place will not make it. If they want to charge outrageous prices then the quality of the food... More

$15 for the oldest, most dried out Grouper I have ever eaten. I have fished for and eaten Grouper in Florida for 60 years. I hope I don't get sick. The shrimp my wife had was likely as old and tasteless[except for the excessive seasoning to hide its' age]. She said she hopes she does not get sick also. Server... More

I have made two recent trips to Cedar Key and was curious about Pickled Pelican. That motivated me to go the new location in Jonesville. Although it was packed on a Wednesday night, I didn't have to wait for a table. But I could tell they were understaffed which is typical of the Gainesville area. My server Brianne was nice... More

I've had lunch there twice now and both time the experience was a good one. The seat are comfortable and good construction (not flimsy). The interior is inviting and bright. Service was given with a friendly greeting and smiles. The food is good. I had the shrimp on one trip and a bacon cheeseburger on another. I have not been... More
