Pretty good

My wife got dinner here as a birthday present. We were finally up on the area and made an hour drive to get there. The garlic theme is kind of cool and unusual. The service was pretty good. The food was OK. We had roasted garlic, calamari and prime rib. There was plenty of very good bread grey the... read more

I booked a private party (surprise party) at the Stinking Rose All of the arrangements were done through email to the GM Stephen Lakis. I had 30 guests coming and Stephen arranged a private room in the back for us. Everything about this evening went perfect! The food was delicious, the service was exceptional. All the meals came out at... More

Visited here on Saturday 01/23/16 with a friend for DineLA. As always the food was good. Our server was so so; and he never lit our table candle so we ate in the dark; but my biggest issue is that even though it was DineLA, the restaurant was not very busy and we ordered an appetizer...not on the DineLA, and... The place stinks of garlic. The food is laced with the stuff. You can even wear a garlic hat if you want to. But the food is really good. The atmosphere busy and the venue is interesting mix of tables and odd tent like seating. We ate here on NY eve and having polished off a good short rib, we... More

This restaurant is a must eat. Yes, it's garlicky, but the flavor or the food comes through. The lamb shanks were awesome and so was the garlic soup. Still can't get myself to try the ice cream. Wait staff is on top of everything.

I was invited here by friends on 12/13/15 for drinks and dinner. I must say this was a first for me. Everything is garlic. I love it, but I'm not sure I like it this much. The meal was ok, but nothing remarkable. We had garlic appetizers and they were NOT that tasty. However, the entree was ok, but I... More

I booked this restaurant after seeing the branch in SF - I thought a garlic restaurant was a brilliant idea, and just had to visit. Unfortunately either a garlic restaurant is not a good idea, or this is just not great execution. We arrived a fair bit early due to my borderline OCD about being late, and were quite surprised... We were told about this place by a friend of my friend who used to live in LA. So we made reservations to this garlic restaurant. Our table was ready right after checking at the desk and next thing we knew, we were sitting at a small table with something akin to a 'tent' surrounding us. It reminded me of... More

On restaurant row, this one celebrates garlic in everything. Ate their special thanksgiving set menu, a lot of food, tasty. The walls of the inside of the restaurant have fun paintings on them, all including garlic. We sat at a table with a tent around us, exotic. When I made the reservation, they said they acted like they were so... More

I went here with family and friends for a casual dinner. The restaurant is cheerful and clever, and completely garlic-themed. Three of us had the forty-clove garlic chicken, which was a delectable half chicken with a garlic gravy, mashed potatoes, and roasted garlic cloves. The chicken was very tender with crispy skin. The hubby had garlic ravioli, which was a... More

Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
