Garlic lovers paradise

Most meals (about 99%) have garlic in them hence the name Stinking Rose. The building itself seems a bit outdated but adds to the ambiance and makes it unique. I mention that because a review I read docked stars for that. The booths have canopies and are very intimate/fun. During this visit my... read more

Four of us went for a celebration. Food- the Bagna Calda (Garlic Soaking in a tub) was pretty much just that. A bunch of garlic cloves in a tub of oil and some seasoning. Served with rather dry and chewy rolls. We love garlic, but this was not anything special and the flavor was not just so-so. Should have been... More

This was an amazing meal! We called earlier in the afternoon to get reservations and were accommodated immediately. My salmon with couscous was perfect and he got the prime rib with mashed potatoes and said it was fantastic! We even got free garlic flavored ice cream with mole for wearing the garlic hats. Don't miss out on that... It was... More

I learned to love eat lots of garlic when I lived in Asia. Every teppanyaki meal ended with me requesting a pile of grilled garlic much to the chagrin of my family members. My daughter heard about this restaurant and suggested we go. I checked the menu online and looked forward to seeing how well they served their various garlic... More

The decor is eclectic and worth the trip and oh, the food is quite good! To start, garlic soaking in a hot tub is gr8 spread over the focaccia bread, yummy! Add the Caesar salad next the it just gets better. Now for the entree, the 40 clove chicken was packed 😀 full of flavor and oh so tender and... More

Travel1763, thanks for taking the time to leave us some kind words and a detailed review! You and your friend certainly did it right, working your way through every gloriously garlic-packed course of the meal! We're glad you decided to go with the 40 clove garlic chicken, it's one of our most famous dishes and for good reason. The crab... More

I LOVE Garlic, so it was no surprise that I picked this restaurant for my birthday dinner in June. My family is Italian, and we use garlic in everything. This place clearly agrees with that life motto, so I thought nearly everything on the menu sounded appealing. Overall, we loved it, though the atmosphere was much more casual than I... More

Date night disappointment. The decor is in need of a major remodel. The food was served cold with little flavor other than garlic. The waiter might fit in better at a lower priced establishment. The bread was good. I think there are better options in this price range.

This place is quirky and interesting to just go in. The food was excellent, huge portions, well presented. Service was great. I wish the owners would move to Naples Florida they would knock spots off the competition.

I love garlic, so had high hopes for this place. What a huge disappointment. The "Bagna Calda" was just a mess, with overcooked mush swimming in low-quality olive oil. A real Bagna càuda is a thing of beauty. This was a travesty. Garlic roasted prime rib had no garlic flavor, and was too fatty. Terrible wine list.

Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
