How can anybody say anything bad about the legendary Matsuhisa? And, actually, I don't have anything that bad to say. We were taken there by good friends, occupied half of the 8-seat "chef's table" that served omakase and had some outrageously good wine. The food was very good and we even had a special appearance by Nobu himself, who was... More

Saturday Night Date Night and Chef Nobu was there! I was returning from the bathroom and he was standing in the doorway to the kitchen. I am a little star struck whenever i see celebrities (#bornandraisedinlosangeles #celebriteseverywhere #frozenstill #flabbergasted) so when he said hello to me, i just froze and waved. He smiled at me and asked if I was... More

First thing you notice when you enter Matauhisa is that it's a very small cozy place. The food is great. It lives up to the Nobu name. The sake list is impressive. We ordered the O Toro, Uni, Salmon roe and yellow tail sushi. All, absolutely delicious. The monkfish liver was exceptional. The most addictive item on the menu is... More

Amazing staff and food, the staff is very friendly and explain everything very clear to you about the dishes. I went there with my boyfriend it was very crowded but it was a nice place to have dinner. We ordered a lot of food but no fish. But the dishes we ordered were great! The sushi with cucumber was so... More

Having been coming to Matsuhisa every few years going back probably about 15 or so, and always make a point of having dinner here whenever we're in the area. I love Nobu, but there's something special about his other-named place. Smaller, more intimate and relaxed, same excellent sushi and other dishes. Comfort food for a sush-phile. Still one of the... On my first trip to Cali I knew that I had to try some of the local sushi and what better place than at Matsuhisa. I happened to be dinning by myself that night so I sat at the bar. Being by myself always makes me feel uncomfortable, especially if the staff is rude, tends to ignore you or displays... More

This is a real japenese restaurant! We felt like in Tokyo! We sat at the shushi bar and we could appreciate the work of the chefs before tasting the it! The quality and the freshness of the fish were simply perfect. It is a bit pricy but really worth the money. If you are in LA, go there!

The place to go to for the japanese food connaisseur who does not look for trendy places but quality of fish. Omakase to die for. Keep up the good work

This is a very popular Japanese LA restaurant. Very crowded all the time. Have tried the chirashi sushi, tempura and ramen noodles. They are all good but what is outstanding is the green tea ice dessert. It is not too sweet with the finest shaved ice, green tea syrup and worth the trip to this restaurant over and over again!
